Question about Dell Inspiron 530 Desktop Computer (ddcwda1_7) IntelPentium dual-core processor E2140 (1MB L2,1.60GH
Six jacks in back and headphone jack in front. None work. One time we got music to play but I think plug was in the microphone jack, went to move it and it has never played again. The volume is turned up on everything. The computer music meters all bounce up and down with the music, showing ''output''. The system says the factory soundcard is ''operating fine''. The stupid microphone jack is the only one that has any life at all; makes scratchy sounds as you work plug in and out but has never made the connection for music again. Looking inside the computer, the six 1/8'' jack connectors are all sealed in metal box without screws, appears riveted. (The six speaker jacks are for surround sound--which we don't really care about. It's my son's computer and he just wants good old left and right. Thank you, Ned Stapleton
Check Bios settings to be sure audio is enabled, then go to control panel, click on sounds, and make sure sound is not muted
