Question about Kitchen Appliances - Others

Open Question

I have a Mitsubishi Rice Cooker Model # NJ-DD10 that I purchased in Japan several years ago. It's been some time since I've used it and all of the operating buttons are in Japanese. Is there an English version of the operating manual I can download from somewhere, or at least find out what each button does?

SOURCE: rice cooker KS-P104

hi!

that may be a hard thing to do since you have a japanese manual.\

you can always use the 1:1 ratio for cooking rice though.

1 cup white rice = 1 cup water.

1 cup brown rice = 2 cups water

hope this helps!

Purchased Durabrand Rice Cooker model HRC 18G working fine Is there a User manual for this cooker? All that is needed is ratio of water to rice including plain long grain and Basmati rice for 1 - 4...

Instructions quoted from the Durabrand Rice Cooker model HRC 18G manual...... 1 cup of uncooked rice rice will make about 2 cups of cooked rice. Add rice to the inner pot. Maximum four cups uncooked rice for the model. Many varieties of rice can be used including basmati, wild rice, arborio risotto, saffron rice and long grain rice. Whole grains, such as barley can also be prepared with the rice cooker, follow instructions on the package.

For every cup (160ml) of raw rice, add 1-1/2cups of water. For stickier rice add slightly more water, for fluffier rice use slightly less water.

When your rice is cooked, the cooker will automatically switch to the warm function and the yellow warm light will turn on. The cooker will stay in the warm function untill is disconnected from the wall outlet. The cooker will keep the rice warm 158F - 212F

Hope this helps, its quoted right out of the manual I have for my cooker

Hi. Checked on Australian Panasonic spares website for part no ASR111-494F and apparently it's no longer available. Panasonic spares would all come from the same source, so it's a good chance it's unavailable worldwide. Sorry.

We purchased the same rice cooker from Linens and Things and it also was a display model. They let us test it before we purchased it because there were NO RETURNS OR REFUNDS, but we were only able to see that it turned on. After one time cooking with it, it stopped working and now we have lost our receipt to ship it in for a warranty claim so we are out of luck....We too, find it hard to locate any manuals, last time we buy out of box just to save $5.00!!!!

Spoiled rice after 20+ hours

I know this thread is old but after much research and trying all the crazy theories on sanitizing the rice cooker I have solved the problem and it should work for you too. EVERY person I've shared this with has reported the same results, rice that keeps for up to a week, nice and hot in the rice cooker as it ALWAYS has, the way you remember when you were a kid.

The problem lies not with the cooker itself but in the water you're using. Yes as simple as that. Let me give you a brief overview. You probably don't know but the tap water you're using most likely is treated with a compound called chloramine. The problem is this compound is also subject to a biological process called nitrification which in turn leads to an accelerated biological process in your rice cooker. This is a very high level explanation and there is much more detailed scientific explanations of the process and issues that are exacerbated by the pipes in your house and at the plant. I will not cover all the technical aspects but if you're wondering why this didn't happen before it's mainly because water was treated with chlorine before, not chloramine.

The bottom line is this. Rinse and cook your rice using ONLY bottled spring water, check the label. If it indicates the bottled water you're using is from municipal sources, call the manufacturer to make sure there is no chloramine. If you do this you will be so relieved and happy, I'll be happy knowing I saved you the frustration and brought rice peace to your life.

Forget about all the special cleaning procedures or equipment testing, I too thought there was something wrong with my fuzzy logic cooker...NOT!!!

Rice cooker stopped working after one month's use

You probably should bring it to a service center. since youve mention a span of time not using your cooker, the thermal capacitor may be busted.

hope this helps.
