Question about Dell Dimension 4600 PC Desktop
I am trying to install Adobe Creative Suite 4 to my Dimension 4600 and I got a message stating the minimum amount of RAM I need is 1.0 GB...my system comes with 512, how can I add more space
You must purchase more ram. Go to your local electronics store, such as Best Buy or Fry's, and you can carry a max of 4GB or Ram in your PC. Make sure you get the following style though:
PC2700 (333-MHz) or PC3200 (400-MHz) DDR SDRAM
(non-ECC). It can be any size up to 1GB
PC3200 is faster so I would go with that one. If you are unfamiliar with installing more ram, after you buy the new RAM, open the desktop and you will find 4 slots with probably two of them filled, or maybe one, with similar look RAM sticks. You will see notches in you new sticks. Make sure you install them by lining up the notch with the slot in the correct direction.
