CD Stuck inside player

I have a CD stuck inside my car stereo and I'm afraid of breaking it inside or taking the stereo apart. I don't want to make matters worse. I hope you can help me.

Re: CD Stuck inside player

Depending on the make of the stereo it will have a 2 piece casing which will allow you to take one part off , normally the lid by removing a couple of small screws or the lid maybe even clipped onto the lower case. Once the lid is off you should be able to get the cd out. If the stereo is security coded do not disconnet it from the electric supply unless you have the code!

Hi, I can't get the magazine out and it reads CD ERROR on the stereo. i've tried to eject it using the button and can hear it making noises as though it is trying but it doesn't come out. i...

It seems so that the disc or the loading mechanism has jammed . Sometimes CD's which have labels or even warped ones( spurious types) can be stuck up as it will not move freely in loading thereby getting stuck in the mechanism.
Also sometimes the loading motor can slip on the pulley with a higher torque or the gear or belt can slip off-- since you can hear the noise when eject is pressed.
The best way is to remove power, open the covers and use a soft tool like a screw driver to push the struck up disc or manually rotate the gears to release the loading and thereby eject the tray out. Now inspect all the disc before you put then back inside as one of them is a suspect.

It won't wont eject or play cd's

Try pressin repeatedly the eject button on the on dash player while at the same time you start the stereo.

If that does not work you can try disconnecting the car battery to reset the unit, and then attempt again the procedure above.

Remember that you may be asked stereo code after disconnecting battery, have it ready.

If still no luck, then the unit must be removed from the dash to be taken apart, so to remove the stuck disk.

PS: Here the procedure above illustrated in detail. The procedure is described for home DVD players, but it is the same on any optical unit. Naturally , since the unit is an in-car system, you do not have power cord, but you will need to disconnect battery to reset the system: player system won't eject disk.

My cds are stuck in the player. They won't play or eject. The message reads "cd error"

Hi Texasgirl826,
There is nothing I can tell you to do that won`t damage the player.

I have one sugestion, go to a shop that installs car stereo, don`t go into the store, go to the bay where the workshop is and ask one of the installers real nice like if he could take it out for you, I`m sure he would.
It is a bit tricky to do it, but it can be done, without having to remove the deck and taking it apart.
Good luck.

take the top of the radio apart and move the cd around... it's jammed and needed help to set up in the player.

put it back in the dash and push play. it should work. i just fixed mine and i am happier than paris hilton in a sausage factory.

Cd error message

Try to disconnect battery contacts and connect it back. Check also if there is an emergency opening device. In some model you have a pin hole underneath the cd tray. push a staple tip inside the hole, and this will release the cd.
If the tray still does not open, you may need to have a repairman opening your stereo at your local service point.
