How do I protect my wireless network from others trying to use it?

Hello.This might sound dumb, but I can't figure out how to set a password to access my wireless internet. I live in an apartment building, and there are college kids everywhere, and im sure they are stealing my wireless internet. I want to password it so that me and my roommates are the only ones who can access it. How do I do this?

you need to access your router in your browser 192.168.0.1 and then go to the wireless menu, see below:
Choose key 1 and type in the relevant amount(dependant on choosing wep 64bit or 128bit) of letter and number mix and click apply.
Make a note of the mixture you typed.
Go to your pc and research for your network and then the option to type in the password will appear and the need to type it in, you should then be secure.
