Question about Symantec Norton Internet Security 2009
It blocks access to Internet Explorer, AOL and a variety of other software that attempts to cross the firewall to the internet. When I click allow it does nothing. Where to I change the settings to allow these programs to run? -
Are you logged in as an administrative user on the machine? If so, when you open up NIS2009, you should see three groups of controls. The middle group for Internet should have the a link for Settings next to it. Click on that. Enable the option for Automatic Program Control (might be on an Advanced Settings tab). This will let the firewall configure itself when a new program is run instead of asking the user. It normally gets the settings right. In the Program Control tab, select the programs that it is blocking that you want to allow and change the Access setting from Block to Allow or Auto.

click here to download the app (for users in the US for now) and get all the help you need.
