You are cetain you have put the correct cartridge in the correct slot? Snapped them all into place properly? These are new, Epson cartridges? Review the instructions found in the printer for installing cartridges. If yours are Epson cartridges and you still have trouble, return the cartridges for replacement where you bought them. That is the benefit of using genuine OEM products.

Re: Epson Stylus printer SX205 - when red light shows against the 'droplet' - what does it mean?

Hi there,

The blinking error means that your printer have a low on ink. This indicator tells you that you may need to prepare for replacement ink.

Hope this info/idea helps.

Replace ink cartridges

1 - Open the top lid 2 - Open the ink cartridge carrier 3 - Shake the ink cartridges 4 - Unpack the ink cartridges 5 - Remove the yellow tape from each cartridge as you get ready to install it, but not before 6 - Install each color cartridge into its corresponding color slot pressing down all the way until it "clicks" 7 - Close the ink cartridge carrier 8 - Close the top lid
At this point the printer should charge its ink cartridges. Let this finish before using your printer.
Hope this helps!

I need to change the ink in my printer, Epsoon

hi friend,
step 1
First you should make sure you get the correct ink refills. You can order them on line, or pick them up at your local office supply store.
  • Step 2 Go into you MY COMPUTER icon on your desktop, click on change a setting, click printers and fax, and then right click on your epson printer. Go into properties, then maintenance.
  • Step 3 Next, click on the refill or replace ink cartridge. It will then move the printer ink refill into position on the printer. Lift the cover and remove the old cartridge.
  • Step 4 Take the tape off of the new ink cartridge, and snap it into place with the matching color. Close the cover, and push the button on the printer that is blinking. It will take a minute, but should move the ink back into position.
  • Step 5 On the computer screen, follow the on screen directions. You can then click finish.
  • jQuery('.article ol .image').each(function(i,e){ var $this = jQuery(this); $this.find('img').error(function(){ jQuery(this).remove(); $this.remove(); }); }); Tips & Warnings
    • Have the new cartridge before your remove the old one.
    • Contact epson if you have any questions.
    hope this helps u

    Ink Cartridges needed replacing.

    Hi,
Remove them, re-seat them a few times..

Clean the contacts on them and the printer.
Using a cotton swab or lint free cloth & distilled, or bottled water,
clean the electrical contacts of the cartridge

    power down afterwards, reboot
Run alignment, head and nozzle checks from your maitainance in the printer properties.

    Should be good then.

( new cartridges can be faulty too )

    Regards
    Richard.

How do i change cartridges in epson stylus sx205?

The SX205 is a bit of a pain to use. There doesn't seem to be a way of changing an ink cartridge unless the printer decides it wants to let you. I managed it by employing fairly brutal tactics. I opened the lid to expose the works, switched the printer on, and with my finger over the switch at the mains socket I waited while the printer went through its start-up procedure, then when the ink carrier was in the right position to make a change, I quickly switched the power off. You have to be really quick to catch it in the right position, and you might need to try more than once to get it right. After changing the cartridge, I switched the mains back on, then switched the printer back on, and everything worked OK after that. It seems crazy that Epson hasn't incorporated a way of doing this into the design. Its certainly the worst Epson printer I have owned from the point of view of ease of use. Photos from it aren't very good either. Dinty
