Question about McCulloch 16 In 4.5 Hp Electric Chainsaw With Carrying Case MCC4516FK

1 Answer

I just bought my McCulloch Electric Saw Model MCC1514 yesterday (4-13-09)at Ace Hardware, Mesquite, NV. I used it for the first time today. I filled it with Chain, Bar, and Sprocket Oil. All of the oil leaked out the bottom. Please tell me what to do. Thank you Tom Shipe, Mesquite, NV tomshipe@rconnects.com

If the fill plug for the oil was tight, and no oil was leaking out of it, then you need to return it to Ace, cause if it's leaking out of the drip hole or the case, it is a factory problem, not yours. Hope you don't have to drive too far. Rick

When I push the button and start cutting, why does the chain kick off?

Review the new chain installation procedure to be sure it was looped over the drive gear correctly. Also, the bar may have readjusted itself after you applied tension and tightened the hardware.

I have a Mcculloch electric chain saw model 235 for which is not pumping oil onto the chain. Can you please advise where I can purchase a new oil pump Regards Darryl.

This is a full strip, and split side covers to get to the pump, this may well be a job for the local repair agent, having been apart it should then be PAT tested to ensure the double insulation it still good.

There are vey few different makes of carb, Tillitson, Walbro, Zama are the main manufacturers, take the make and model from the carb and approach any good chainsaw shop. they should carry most popular diaphrams.

What oil does it take

You provide no model number so my answer is limited. Use "Bar and Chain" oil available at most home centers and hardware stores.

You can likely find an OM for your saw here: If the entire model does not work try just the numbers then choose from the list provided.
