Sagging roof I have a 99 coleman pop-up camper w/ sagging roof (due to weight of a/c apparently). What's best and most economic way to repair? Would love to see pics of someone who has repaired theres. Thx, Bill

I own a 1999 Coleman Mesa without roof A/C and also have a problem with my roof deforming and sagging in the middle. Turns out, Coleman had problems with many of the plastic roofs doing this. There are other sites on the web describing the problem. No repair avail other than roof replacement which is quite costly.

    Good luck.

did you ever get a answer or did you figure how to fix it? I have the same problem and just pulled it into my garage to start. I'm thinking of taking the AC unit off and putting somekind of tee bars inside and attaching a chainfall and pull the roof straight again and then installing aluminum teebars upside down and bolted them to hold the roog level. Maynot look great but should work. Don't think there's enought room to slide a long tee bar in from the roof cut.

SOURCE: Hi, the roof top air conditioner drain keeps

Re: re-directing the water dripping over door ! Stop at RV parts store and get yourself a tube of "Dicor" self leveling sealant. It's recommended for rubber roofs, but works well on most roof surfaces.
Then I simply run a 3/8" bead of "Dicor" across wherever the run-off from AC is coming down, and re-direct it so the run-off comes off roof elsewhere. Don't try to smooth it out or anything, as I said, it is self leveling, just use a caulking gun, lay a bead about 3/8" and allow it to set for a few hours if you can. Make sure you pick a time where AC is off for a couple hours so (run-off) water isn't present. You"ll see the path (stain) on roof where it travels to guide you for redirecting. It's a simple fix, and no screws or nails required. Use the rest of the Dicor to fill in any gaps, cracks etc you see on sealant on the roof while your up there, but clean those before applying. If you can wipe your intended path down with some mild cleaner prior to applying bead, it will help it stick better as well. Even a little dish soap in water will do, just be careful, it gets pretty slippery when soap on there. Quick rinse with water then dry with rag, or let the sun dry it. Actually on a rubber roof, It should be scrubbed with mild detergent at least once a season anyway.

Hitch: Verify the obvious. 1-7/8" or 2" ball and coupler. Some couplers can be and may need to be adjusted. Look for a screw on the rear side.

Sorry, not much help on the lift system. Although, I rigged a winch up to my coleman instead of replacing the whiffle tree. You may be able to do similar.

Delaminated TOP on Coleman Camper

If you have to fix it yourself out of warranty i suggest this ,

REGLUE ALL THE BITS THAT ARE COMING AWAY , THEN FIND A GLUE THAT IS SPREADABLE LIKE A THIN PAINT AND COAT THE ENTIRE ROOF MAKING SURE THAT IT GETS INTO ALL THE CRACKS , LET IT DRY .
THEN PAINT THE ROOF WITH A THERMAL MEMBRANE COATING . This will insulate the camper from the sun and keep heat in during colder times , the thermal paints are not cheap but they do work . Hope this will help you
