Headphones port on my Zen no longer working

Hi, The headphones port on my Zen has gradually started to not work and now does no work at all. For a period of time I was able to push it a bit to one side and it would play again but no it is not giving out any proper sound. Any suggestions as to how this can be fixed? Cheers, Clement

Re: Headphones port on my Zen no longer working

You may have a detatched connector on your circuit board. My main solution is: Solder the wire to the connector and presto. You may have to read instructions as to how to take it apart. Good Luck.

The earplug jack on my Creative Zen Touch (20G) does not work without constantly messing with the plug to find just the right spot then when you let go it messes up again.

Hi it sounds the solder connection on the board has a dry joint, or worse still, broken internals in the jack plug.
The only way to find out is open the player and take a look.

My iriver headphone jack gives distorted or no sound at all sometimes. after jiggling the phones it seems to work but it soon moves again when i move everything else works well

Have you tried using different headphones? If they work, then the headphones you currently have may have some faulty wiring. If different headphones do not work, then there may be something wrong with the headphone port on the iriver.
If there is a problem with the headphones, the best solution would just be to buy new ones. It is much less of a hassle and much less costly. If there is a problem with the iriver's port, it would be best to take it to an electronics store and have them find out exactly what is wrong.

My zen duh

My suggestion is that there is a loose connection in the headphones and that is why it will only work when it's in a certain direction. That would be the soloution if it was just that one pair of headphones. If lots of pairs of headphones don't work. then it might be that one of the metal plates in the headphone port is broken or damaged. If this is so it might be worth taking it to your local electrician.
