I have two of the above models with the same symptoms.
When I switch off using the remote after a few seconds a cracling sound similar to sttic discharge is continuously heard from the TV, this goes off when power is unplugged.
Anothere problem experienced is after switching off with the remote or power discoinnection all previously programmed channels are lost.
