SOURCE: laser printer keeps printing hp ads

Hello,
Please perform the following:
If the printer is connected via network, unplug the network cable and perform cold reset.

Cold reset A cold reset changes most system parameters in NVRAM to the factory defaults. However, unlike NVRAM initialization, a cold reset does not reset the page count, the paper tray sizes, language, or formatter number.
A cold reset also resets all the HP Jetdirect settings as well as the printer settings. Use the following procedure to perform a cold reset.

  1. Turn off the printer.
  2. Press and hold the Go button.
  3. Turn the printer on, and continue to hold the Go button for at least 5 seconds, but not longer than 15 seconds. During this process, the Attention LED turns on.
  4. Release the Go button.
If both the Attention and the Ready LEDs turn on before you release the Go button, you must start the procedure again with step 1.
The printer's LEDs begin cycling. The cold-reset process runs until completion, and the printer returns to the ready state.

Then uninstall / delete the previous drivers and install the drivers from the following link:

SOURCE: HP Business Inkjet 1200 printer always prints the Alignment Page

Normal 0 Could have a corrupt driver.
Disconnect the printer or at least be sure it is turned off. I'd do both and when the CD software program asks you to connect the printer to the USB port, do so and it should again work properly.
Hope this helps. Bud

SOURCE: Blurry, Ink Smeared pages

If the media (glossy paper) is designed for an ink jet printer you should be fine.

Ink has to be able to be absorbed into the fibers of the page. If you are using paper for a laser color printer, that's your problem.

power off the printer. removed the network cable only. power on until it display ready. now print a config sheet or menu map. if it print without error then connect the network cable and print config sheet again. wait and observed. if it will start printing garbage then KILL the print jobs queued on the printer. after deleting all print jobs power off and power on printer with network cable connected. I hope that will fix the problem. by the way. was there any error display in the panel display like "49.4C02". etc.

Hi. I need to make default setting to print grayscale. Kindly give me the steps. Thanks

Color/black mix
This item allows you to configure printer settings to optimize printer and cartridge performance for the printing environment. If the printer is primarily used for black printing (over two-thirds of the pages are black only), change the printer settings to MOSTLY BLACK PAGES.

Setting the color/black mix
1. Press Menu to enter the MENUS.
2. Press to highlight CONFIGURE DEVICE.
3. Press to select CONFIGURE DEVICE.
4. Press to highlight SYSTEM SETUP.
5. Press to select SYSTEM SETUP.
6. Press to highlight COLOR/BLACK MIX.
7. Press to select COLOR/BLACK MIX.
8. Press or to select the desired option. (Select MOSTLY BLACK PAGES)
9. Press to select the option.
10. Press Menu.

Select MOSTLY BLACK PAGES if you print mostly monochrome print jobs, or a combination of color and monochrome print jobs.

How do i clean a printhead?

When print heads get clogged, image quality suffers. But cleaning print heads is a quick and simple process. Here's a step-by-step tutorial on cleaning print heads. This is how i did it with my Canon Pixma MP530 but most printers will work in much the same way.

1. Click the Start button at the lower left corner of your screen.
2. Click on Control Panel. Next, choose Printers and Other Hardware, and then View Installed Printers or Fax Printers.
3. When the Printer page opens, right click on your printer's name, and choose Printing Preferences.
4. For the Pixma MP530, the Printing Preferences has five tabs across the top; choose Maintenance. Again, most printers should have a very similar set of options
5. The first button is for cleaning the print heads. You'll have to choose which print heads you want to clean (the Pixma inkjet has five cartridges). The best bet is to choose All Colors.
6. Make sure the printer is turned on and that there's some paper loaded, then click on Execute
7. The printer will print out a pattern with a grid along the top and six bars of different colors. Two images will display on your monitor that you can compare to the printed image. In one, the grid and colors are sharp and clear; in the other, some of the grid boxes are missing and the colors are striped.
8. If the printout matches the sharp, clear image, simply click Exit and you're done
9. If the printout has missing grid boxes or stripes, then click Cleaning. Once that's done, you'll repeat the whole process so you can ensure the cleaning was completely successful. It may take two cleanings if your print heads are really clogged
10. If, after two cleanings, you're still getting a poor result, there's a Deep Cleaning option on the Maintenance tab that should do the job.

I hope this information will be helpful. Thank you for using FixYa!

Your Feedback is greatly appreciated.

Printing thin black lines the length of my color pages, HP laserjet 3800

one question......
do the lines go off the edge of the paper?
if so either the black drum unit or the belt has gone bad.
if the lines stop before the edge of the paper it could be on the print job itself.
go through the menu and look for demo pages or the configuration pages to print and examine them.

Our iPF700 Printer is printing lines through color pages. Can't figure out why...

enter the menu, go to test print, perform nozzle check and see the print out, there must be 6 grids of colors. Check alla the grids if some of them are brocken then perform head cleaning B twice or more.
If the problem doesn;t go then replace the print head.

Hp 2600n will not accept print jobs. Color cartridges show empty. black shows half full. Printing of a test page produces a great test page quality

I have two problems. Either it won't accept a print job or when it is printing it stops when it is going through the job intermittently. Like for an hour it won't continue then all of a sudden it prints one page then a half hour later another page etc. It is so frustrating.
