abad ground on that tail light unit could affect current load when turn and stop are used simultaneously. Although one side only is affected make sure of good grnd between trailer and tow vehicle. focust on the tail light unit in question. Replace the bulb. though rare, bulbs have been known to be the problem. If the bulb is breaking filiments ck the filiment orientation. filiments last longer in vertical orientation, where horizontal permits vibration to break the heated filiment when brake is applied.. good luck and let me know if This helped or not.

Regulator in alternator obviously faulty, have it bench tested & fixed or replace alternator, and cure your problem.

Hi, there are 3 fuses the the alternator needs to charge the battery. These may be inside the car or in a box in the engine compartment. They are named IG1, ECU, and ALT. If you have trouble finding them, please get back to me.

91 LeBaron, battery does not charge. I can use a charger at night, but car will only run until battery runs out of juice and then it dies. I have replaced the altenator.

The problem may be the computer.
Most 1990s Chrysler products used the computer to control the alternator.
You may have to get someone with a shop manual to test the system.

HOW TO INSTALL ALTERNATOR BELT DIAGRAM

ALTERNATOR/WATER PUMP DRIVE BELT(courtesy of autozone)

On most of the 1981-88 model year engines covered in this information, the alternator/water pump drive belt is tensioned by a screw type tensioner, which makes precise tension adjustment easy.

  1. On 1981-87 models, loosen the locknut, located on the locking screw or lockbolt-located in a slotted portion of the outboard alternator mounting bracket.
  2. On 1988 models, loosen the T-bolt, located in the center of the disc shaped portion of the outboard alternator bracket.
  3. Tighten or loosen the drive belt tensioning bolt. This bolt is tightened to increase belt tension and loosened to decrease it.
  4. When the belt tension is correct, tighten the lockbolt.

How do i put on an alternator belt for my 1992 chrysler lebaran.

Turn off your engine and let it cool down. You will have to loosen the alternator bolts and this will loosen the belt so you can remove it. Purchase a belt tension meter and use it when replacing with the new alternator belt. The belt shoud wiggle not more that 1/8 of an inch. If it is too tight it will damage the altenator bearings. If it is too loose it will eventually slip and wear. You may need a helper to hold the alternator while you tighten the bolts.

The alternator on my girlfriends 91 Chrysler Lebaron isnt producing enough power to recharge or keep my battery charged. its giving me the codes DTC41, DTC 35, AND DTC 31, now i know that one of those...

There are 2 types of alternators for this vehicle .code 41 is a field circuit code for the alternator The SBEC controlls the charging rate of the alternator . It could be wiring connections or the SBEC ( computer) to be the problem .You may have to back probe some terminals to find the problem ,but first check all of the engine grounds including the negative battery cables. The fault code for the field circuit is most likely generated because of an open circuit . The SBEC (computer) supplies the ground to energize the field circuit ..

Serpintine belt came off of alternator on 1993 Chrysler LeBaron there is no diagram to route the belt on ,or, in the car. How is belt routed around the alternator pulley? Is there a diagram available?

From comments to other users and Lebaron Owners; for remove, starting at the alternator pulley and going clockwise around the pathof the belt, the belt drops down and forward and goes under the idlerpulley, continues forward and less steeply downward and goes around thecrankshaft pulley clockwise, rises rearward going over the top or thetensioner pulley counterclockwise, then drops down and around the powersteering pump clockwise and rises to go around the alternator pulleyclockise (which is where I started the description). To loosen thetension to remove the belt, or to give you slack to install the beltwithout having to force it over a pulley while under tension you rotatethe tensioner pulley arm around its pivot clockwise according to the'94 shop manual. It doesn't show by what means to effect this rotation,but in the earlier manual I have ('89) it shows there to be a 1/2"square hole in the tensioner arm into which you insert a breaker barwith a 1/2" square drive which gives you the temporary lever to rotatethe tensioner against its spring action. I assume there is a similar1/2" square hole on the '94 you are working with. Interestingly,between '89 and '94 the idler pulley was added, and the requiredrotation of the tension arm changed from counterclockwise to clockwiseto relieve the tension."

Steering belt
