What does demo mode mean on the sony hdr cx 405 camcorder. been trying to record and it only will record about three minutes of what i actually want to record. should this be turned to off or what.

I would imagine, although I am not familiar with this model, that demo mode means just that - sufficient recording time to demonstrate the camcorder's capabilities. Is there an option in the menu system to turn off demo mode ? Or, you could always look in the manual.

My car wont turn over

If you are trying to start your car but when you turn the key all you hear is a faint click then this is a good indication that the starter motor needs replacing.
If how ever you need to get the car started then you can try the following:
1. locate the starter motor and give it a few hits with a hammer this may then enable you to start the car, but remember this isnt a permanent fix and could leave you stuck as it dont always work.
2 get someone to help you push the car whilst its in gear push it then release the clutch so the engine turns over with the ignition switched on if your going fast enough the engine should then fire up if not and the engine just turns over then give the starter another try on the key and you should find it will then start, remember this isnt permanent fix so get the starter replaced as soon as you can.

If when you turn the key you dont hear any clicking noise and you have tried the starter motor as listed above then their is a good chance you either have a flat battery in the key fob if you have central locking or it could even mean that your imobiliser is playing up if this is the case then their isnt much you can do yourself as they are not servicable and would require a garage to look at the fault.

Engine starting on full boost

If its starting w a boost that means your battery isnt doing its job. The connections on the battery may be the troublemakers too.1st, get the batt & alternator ckd & ckd for electrical shorts. If all is well it could be the starter itself. Start at the basics, batteries always are step 1 in this case. get it ckd & go fm there. Sounds like an easy one. Good luck

How do I turn it on

There is two red lights, one means you are recording and the other is low batt. which one you are talking about?
If it is Low batt light, there is dirty or bad contacts at battery compartemt. clean it with alcohol and a piece of cotton.

The other light is you are recording.
also you are in VOX mode, disconect.
VOX means voice operated without hands.

Sould the second radiator fan along with the first?

I would presume you are meaning an electric fan that has two fans together. Both fans dont always run at the same time. One is a high speed fan and the other a low speed fan together in the same shroud. Engine temp determines if and when they turn on. *****CAUTION!!!!! Fans can turn on any time the key is in the on position even if the engine isnt running. Do not put your finger in the fan or handle them unless the Neg (-) battery terminal is disconnected.*****

Update the firmware and start over (warning: it will erase all songs/recordings from the device - so back them up first).

to switch between internal memory to the normal, it means the memory card isnt pushed in all the way [the memory card not the battery] so you have to push it back's happened to mine several times and that always works

Everything resets after power off

You should always wire constant power to the battery. This allows you to guarantee constant power. Don't trust anything else and you will always have success. TO THE BATTERY!!
