- Hi manual supplied with E-510 is not as detailed as the old E-10 will search for intervalometer in index, thanks blakey

- I need the function for wildlife photography, the the length of usb cable if available needs to be 5 or 10 metres second problem would be battery life of laptop or PDA, looks like my new E-510 is redundant already, good job I kept my E-10 will have to buy 300mm lens adaptor if I can find one, thanks blakey
You may need to have the camera plugged into the computer and operated by the software that came with it. It might have a feature there called intervalometer.

- Like I say, check the camera software when the camera is plugged into the usb. If there is a cable release accessory available, sometimes these are electronic and have this feature built into them.

Olympus e510 Appears to be similar to some below. Recently autofocus, and shutter do not clode in P, S or A modes, although the camera functions as normal in Auto or the pre-configured scene modes. Any ideas?

My new E-520 is almost always out of focus with 14-42mm and 40-150mm kit lenses when wide open. As the aperture is closed down the images get sharper and f/8 both give reasonably well focussed images. This is not a mild softening that would be excpected at large (wide) apertures -- the camera is clearly out of focus. Interstingly, in live view and using imager AF the pictures come out pretty well focussed and sharp at all apertures. Last week I sent the camera and one of the lenses to Olympus for inspection and repair and got it back today. Absolutely nothing has changed although the service report says "focus recalibrated". From the test images they have included with the report it appears they took a few sots of a test screen at f/8 and send it back to me. The report also says "firmware updated" although it makes no sense. I already had the latest firmware and the firmware version on the camera and lens are the same before and after service! I am going to send the camera back for service. Selva
