Use any data listed for Marlin 1895 and you should be safe as long as you follow safe reloading practices (I can not give you more information as liability is so transient these days) Lyman reloading manual for cast bullets is a good source, Most all reloading manuals have 3 classifications for the wonderful old cartridge, 1871 Trap door, Marlin 1895, Ruger #1 and bolt actions. I have used all the types listed, take my word for it approach max with trepidation and use only as a last ditch effort, 1895 max loads are brutal recoil, Ruger #1 max loads are retina ripping mind numbing and a concussion waiting for you to snap the cap on.
the same way you set it on any other radio.Look at the face of the set,you will see a switch that says S/RF,CAL , SWR. Now look at your meter and you will see a triangle that shows cal.Put your set on ch 1 with the switch in the cal position and bring the needle to that calibrate line on the meter by keying the mic. now release the key and set switch to SWR and key the mic again. Now write this reading down.Repeat for channels 40 and 19. If the reading is higher on 40 than on 1 you need to shorten the ANTENNA.If its higher on 1 than 40 you need to make your ANTENNA longer Always check 19 to make sure you have an average SWR. Any reading under 1.9:1 is good
1. Switch the first switch (S/RF SWR CAL) to CAL setting 2. Key mic up & 3. Turn SWR CAL knob while still keying mic until the needle is on the red CAL arrow at the far end of the meter scale. Unkey mic. 4. Switch the first switch back to SWR setting. 5. Key mic up again and record SWR reading and adjust as needed. 6. When done adjusting put switch back in the S/RF setting for normal operation.
call a vacumn or small appliance repair shop most vacumn repair shops will know what bags you need esp if they service your model or may be able to tell you who to call
the tx/rx liight is green when your radio is recieving signals and turns red when you are sending signals. the ANT light is red when your SWR is too high (over 3)
1. turn the knob labeled swr cal all the way counter clockwise
2. set the rf swr cal switch to the CAL position
3 key up the mic and hold it while you rotate the swr cal knob until the needle reaches the swr cal postition
4. set the swr cal rf switch to the swr position
5. key up the mic while on chanel one (record the the number)
6. switch to chanel 40 key up the mic (record the number)
if the number on chanel one is lower than the number on chanel 40 then your antenna is too long.
