Is it a single handle or double handle faucet?
If it is a single:    1.  Remove handle via setscrew the side of the handle          (possibly under a decorative cap with the company name)    2.  Unscrew the packing nut holding the valve cartridge in    3.  Remove cartridge and access washers
For double handle    1.  Remove decorative cap on top of handle with a think screw driver.    2.  Remove handle and packing nut holding the valve stem in place    3.  Remove valve stem and body to access washers and o-rings.

Remember to turn water off at the source prior to doing any work. Replacement is just reverse of removal and don't forget to use a washer grease on all washers/o-rings when reassembling.

Washer not filling with water

Hi Karen. Problem may be the internal "tap" that operates electrically. First test - If you are trying for a cold wash, try a hot wash. If maching begins to fill you know this tap is your problem. There are 3 solutions if this is the case
1) swap hot and cold water hoses at the tap and tell machine to do a hot wash - only good if you only want cold washes
2) check where hoses connect to machine at rear - sometimes a fine mesh filter that has become clogged - may be at either end.
3) Replace the internal "tap"(solinoid). This "tap" has a rubber diaphram inside that may become stuck if the machine has not been used for a while. it can be easily dismantled and reasembled by a handyman.

may have a screwed up washer seal on the hot side..it will stop the flow to a degree and allow more cold water in..calls for dismantling the entire control or replacing it..

24460 washer just installed but water will not come in when press start , 86630 dryer works fine .

Hi from retired Englishman in SW France,
(Although you say that the washer is 'just installed', you do not say whether it is new or not)

If you have checked that the hot and cold water taps are turned on fully and the hoses are not kinked or squashed at the back, it is worth while checking both the hot and cold water inlet filters. Turn the taps off and remove both hoses at the washer end. Inside each inlet port there is normally a little filter which should just slide out. Clean if necessary and replace each one and the hoses. If after turning the taps back on there is no improvement, the problem is symptomatic of a malfunctioning hot or cold water control valve.
If the washer is new contact the vendor!!! I assume it is still under some sort of guarantee/warantee? You can nulify any guarantee if you attempt to fix problem before contacting vendor.
If it is not new you will need a service call, sorry ;-0(

If this has assisted you please consider a 4 thumbs up for the rating.
Thanks and good luck,

Hi, i had plugged in my new Stirling washing machine and the hot water is working but not the cold water. It seems something is blocking it. Can anyone help. Thanks

Hi from retired Englishman in SW France,
Carry out these (pre-typed for hot and cold!) steps before contacting the manufacturer's service centre or your vendor.

Alarm F10 is displyed , my washer/dryer doesnt

Hotpoint error code F10 is

"No cold fill. Check that the taps are on or if the drain hoses are kinked".

Has someone turned off the water supply or the isolator valve on the plumbing?

If not, you may have a faulty inlet valve on the machine.

Haier Genesis HLT364XXQ CAN'T GET HOT WATER WASH

hey Paul, you don't have to wash anything in hot water. Hot water only wastes money and does nothing, in my opinion, to get anything cleaner. It does ,however set the stains. To kill any thing the water has to be 212 degrees [ boiling ]I have not used hot water for over 40 years and our clothes are coming out clean. Just set the machine on cold. I put a twoway spigot on my cold tap and put the hot water and cold water together incase someone breaks in and does my laundry. Barry

Cold water only very slowly trickles into the washer. Hot water works fine. Cold water has very good pressure and volume at all other sources in the house. The cold water hose at back of washer is clean...

there can be 3 reasons for this I will tell u the easiest way to test this first
Problem1)turn the water off at the blue tap fitting that is proberbly under your sink take the blue pipe off at the washer end and place it into the sink turn the blue tap back on if the water comes out quick then the problem is more then likely your cold water solenoid that is either slightly blocked were it fits to the washer,But if it doesnt come out quick then the other 2 problems are as follows.
Problem2)the blue tap that u turn the cold water on to the blue pipe undue the little screw in the middle of the tap and pull the blue fitting off now with a pair of pliers turn the square metal fitting that was under the blue fitting making sure that the end of the pipe is in the sink if it comes out quick then that is the problem the blue tap fitting is rounded off when ot should be square turn the water of and replace the pipe and turn the water back on the cold water should be better now.
Problem3)the blue tap that u turn the cold water pipe of at the copper pipe is blocked or it has a broken shut off valve inside it this will need replacing these are the only problems that it could be let me know if this is any help to u peter
