I am not sure if this is a problem with power supply. Yesterday suddenly my machine stopped working. I wasnt using it. It just shut off. Now when I started the cpu, I see one green LED on the mother...

the problem is in your motherboard..this most cause unregulated flow of power from the source electric..but if the green led is off so its the processor.try to test it with a motherboard tester..or get another board that same spec with the you have, and transfer the processsor if it is working

FAN OK BUT NO DISPLAY

I like that. Kinda' rhymes. "Fan OK but no Display"

Problem is your Processor isn't turned on.

You have a bad Power Supply.
> Weak voltage power rail.

You probably have a 200 to 300 Watt power supply. (SMPS)

1) ALL of the LED lights together use less than 1 Watt of power.

2) EACH fan uses 2 to 3 Watts.

3) A typical Processor can use 51 to 125 watts. Depends on what Processor it is.

The Intel D845GVSR motherboard uses a Socket 478 processor socket.
Supports Intel Celeron, Intel Pentium 4, and Intel Celeron D, that utilize a Socket 478 processor socket, and have a maximum FSB of 533MHz.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_Intel_chipsets#Pentium_4_Chipsets

Utilizes the Intel 845GV motherboard chipset.
[ Intel 82845GV Northbridge chip, and Intel ICH4 Southbridge chip ]

89 Watts is the maximum wattage, that can be used by a Processor for the Intel D845GVSR motherboard.

Power Supply has enough power to light LED lights, and spins fans, but not enough to turn the Processor on.
No Processor operating, No computer.
No computer, No video signal to the monitor.
(No Signal)

Do you have access to a KNOWN to be good, compatible Power Supply, for a test unit?

I have a problem with Intel D845GVSR Motherboard with 2.0 GHz processor. When I power the M/B, only the Motherboard LED is on, but no boot, no cpu fan running. No beep code also. I check the SMPS, RAM,...

Hi,

Think this should be an issue with the power button, Remove the wires running from the power button to MB and try starting the system with shorting the 2 lead of the power button..

Mostly, it can be due to bad power supply or Ram

There is a CD tool called "Ultimate Boot CD" which can be downloadedathttp://www.ultimatebootcd.com. On this CD there are quite a fewtoolsthat you can use to test your RAM, CPU, Hard Drive, etc.. forproblems.Just boot up with this CD and select the corresponding testingprogramto use. Test each component until you find the component causingthe issue.

Cause it seems something is overheating.. Probably the CPU.

No start up, no bios boot , only "no signal "on screen

Is the CPU fan spinning? if not, check the coolant between the CPU and the cooler (ensure it's not dried up, and replace it if it has or if there is very little there).
