Cant play dvds on my pc

I cant play dvds on my pc and when i try it using a dvd player it works.
i could play other dvds on my dvdrom on my desktop.
Pls. help

WizSony Optical drives are well known for there compatibilty issues in regards with their reading capabilities. BTW Which is which Sony or Samsung?
