Your problem is two parts. One part concerns the touchpad and that is due to the touchpad hardware connections coming loose. The sticky key however is due to some sticky liquid seeping into the keyboard at one point in time. Maybe the laptop got exposed to a sugary beverage spill that made the keys sticky. Clean underneath you should be fine, but try not to remove the keys as you clean them because the braces that hold the keys to the keyboard base sometimes break.
It is possible that the micro switch underneath the button is defective. If this is the case, then the laptop ,(if still under warranty),should be returned to the manufacturer for repair. Otherwise, a new motherboard will be required as the micro switches cannot be replaced.
Hi melissamhahn..
Try this solution to your problem

To fix an unresponsive touchpad on your laptop, reactivate it by using the Function key on the keyboard and the Fn key.
This process is different for each computer manufacturer. If unsure which Function key enables and disables the touchpad, try each one at a time and then attempt to use the touchpad after each one.
A...Locate the "Fn" key of the laptop keyboard. The "Fn" key has different colored text or the key is a different color.
B...Locate the function (F1 through F12) key at the top of the keyboard that disables or enables the touchpad on the laptop. The key typically has an icon that resembles a touchpad with a finger touching it or a touchpad with a diagonal line through it.
C...Press both the "Fn" and touchpad Function key at the same time to reactive the touchpad on your laptop. Move your finger along the touchpad to verify that it works. Press the combination at any time to disable the touchpad again.
Note: Mac computers use "F2" to enable and disable the touchpad.
D. Sony Vaio Users: Start>Settings>Control Panel>Double click the Mouse icon. Look at the top left hand side of the page, at the top and make sure that the "Tapping" box is unchecked, if it is checked then, you will uncheck it. Please take time to rate me thumbs up
This could be as simple as dirt, crumbs or hair etc that is basically stuck under the right click button.
Turn the laptop on it's side and get a clean, dry paintbrush. Gently tap around the touchpad area with the back of the brush to dislodge any foreign objects that maybe stuck under the button. Then use the bristle end to clean around and under the buttons.
Hopefully this should resolve the problem for you.
If not then you will be able to get a replacement touchpad for your laptop from websites like eBay for example. All you have to do is search for the touchpad by the laptop model number and are fairly cheap to purchase.
I have the same model with the same symptoms in for repair. This is a motherboard issue and requires a reflow of the GPU and chipset. It has nothing to do with the LCD because the buttons don't react when the laptop is "turned on". The touchpad turn on/off button does not react when pressed, the same is with the wifi, volume and mute buttons. The problem is in a poor solder and a cracked/oxidized contacts due to heat buildup.
If the laptop is less than a year old then it maybe able to be repaired under warranty.
The touchpad contains electronic components just like a mouse, and a fault could develope like any electronic device.
First thing, go into the BIOS configuration and set the BIOS configuration back to the default settings, then save, exit and reboot the laptop.
If this doesn't fix the problem then connect and use an USB mouse instead of the touchpad.
Hi!
I resently had the same problem on my HP laptop and search Google for possible solutions. No solution works until I tried Windovs Update and then got 5 alternatives - Synaptics PS/2 port TouchPad was one of them. I update and restart and finally solve this problem.
