Acer Aspire One won't complete boot process

I have an Acer Aspire One that I haven't had for even three months, bought it brand new. It's driving me crazy. I turn it on, it gets no further than the "Welcome" screen and makes the boot noises, then shuts itself off completely. I can't even get the thing to boot in Safe Mode. when it asks if i'd like to use safe mode, it doesn't even get to any other screen except showing what its loading(hard to explain that). I have dozens of pics on it from a trip I took recently, and don't want to lose them. I really need some help here, guys!

The only issue with that is the one I chose doesn't have a CD drive. I should have metioned that whe I posted, sorry.

I hate commenting on my own posts. With no CD drive, I don't know how to get anything going. I thought of trying to hook the aspire up to my desktop and accessing my photos that way, but the issues there are 1)I don't know how to do that, but suppose I can find out 2)Don't know if that's possible without the laptop being on, and seeing as that's the whole problem, I am seriously frustrated!!!!!!!!!!

Create a bart pe disc

Bart Pe Site

FAQ and instructions are on the site and once you have burnt it to disc you should be able to recover the data you want and then either do a repair install or a full re install ( if the latter then ) I would wipe / erase the hard drive after you have your data.

You will need to purchase a few items.

    1. relevant screw driver(s) to take the laptop hard drive out of the laptop

    2. an external drive kit to connect the laptop hard drive to another computer ( to recover your data ).

    3. an external dvd rw drive so you can boot the laptop from the installation discs.

If you have number 3 ( the external drive ) then you can skip number 2 as you should be able use the bart pe disc and a memory stick or another storage device to backup your data or even the external drive ( which you will be able to burn data to a disc(s) as it is a re writeable drive )

and skip number 1 as you wont need to take the hard drive out if you get an external drive.

Also if you need further help or get stuck let me know by posting back

It should have come with some installation disks. Insert the first one and it should detect and prompt you to repair your installation or reinstall (overwrite your existing OS). Choose repair.

I was restoring from the Acer recovery disk that I created when my process crashed before it completed. Now it won't boot up at all...HELP!

Your best bet is to reinstall the operating system. I couldn't count the number of times that the Recovery Discs created by users fail, it's very common. The only recovery that works a high percentage of the time is when the manufacturer puts a recovery partition on your hard drive.

You can try your Recovery Disc again, but if it produces the same results, just reinstall your operating system fresh. It shouldn't matter because either way you will lose your data.

Acer Aspire 5050 won't boot at all

Yes, it's not the hard drive.

More than likely it's your motherboard.

There's not much you can do besides trying to boot the computer without the battery, and removing and reinstalling the memory.

Hopefully you'll get lucky!

Acer aspire 1 netbook won,t boot up.

When you first turn the machine on hit F2, that will take you into the bios menu, i don't know what version your machine is using, but the information is usually on the first page, you should find it easy enough because it will be next to the CD/DVD drive.
