My GE WCSR4170D AWW top loading washing machine will not stop filling with water. i can get it to agitate when i blow into the air line hose attached to the water level switch. BUT it never stops filling...

Thanks for choosing FixYa and welcome. You probably have a bad water level switch. As for the agitation, the drive motor controls the agitation, spinning, and draining. It is possible for the machine to not agitate, but yet spin and drain. The motor runs clockwise and counterclockwise. It may be bad and if so, will need changed.

Can I limit the pressure to 120 PSI, the upper recommended limit for my nail gun?

adjust your pressure switch on your compressor .remove the cap and turn the screw clockwise to increase and counterclockwise decrease.turn the screw counterclockwise a bit and release some air till the compressor start pumping.then just before to reach 120 psi turn counterclockwise to stop the compressor at 120.then release some air again till it cuts in again and look at what pressure it will stop.keep going that way till you get your 120 psi.cut in should be around 90 psi(30 psi differential)depending what kind of pump you have (if the pump can handle 150 psi )you can adjust it to cut in at 120 and cut off at 150 and install a pressure regulator adjusted to 115 to 120 and get a nice steady pressure going to your nail gun.(the best way to do it!!!)

Need factory suspention settings for CBR600F 1999

hello the front forks are stock as follows.
the preload adjustment should be to where the third groove is shown just above the fork cap.
and the top screw (rebound dampening) turn clockwise till stopped. then out one turn counterclockwise.
then at the bottom of the fork. adjust the compression dampening screw all the way in clockwise then out 1.5 turns counterclockwise.
the same settings are for both forks.
the rear standard preload should be set with a spanner wrench and the 2nd notch from softest is standard.
at the bottom of the shock turn the damper screw in clockwise to stop, then turn out one turn.
and the comp dampening screw on the rear resivoir should be turned all the way in clockwise then turn out once turn counterclockwise.
and those are the stock settings.
thank you.

Locked up agitator,

If your agitator is a 2 piece, it has a rachet action and turns free counter clockwise and locks to the bottom piece when turning counter clockwise.
The transmission disengages the agitator when it is in the spin mode. If you put the washer in the spin cycle the agitator should free up.
If the washer is spining ok and the agitator is not turning free you have a transmission problem.

-no agitation

Welcome to Fixya
My name is Huum,

All functions operate normally except the machine will not agitate

The agitator is driven by a couple of different methods. The first is the agitator is splined and slips onto the matching splines of the agitator shaft from the transmission. The second is the use of a bell coupling which is splined to the agitator shaft as well and the agitator snaps onto the coupling. If the agitator does not agitate, first remove the agitator and watch the agitator shaft to see if it is working properly. This wil require a small load setting of water and the machine set to run. If the agitator shaft is working properly, it is either the splines on the agitator or the bell coupling that is defective. If the agitator shaft does not work properly, the problem is in the transmission.

Difficulty in releasing old water filter from holder

Your statement says you turned the filter fully clockwise, to remove the filter you would turn it counterclockwise. I figure you know that and did a typo.
My first suggestion would be to turn the filter fully counterclockwise until the dead stop, then while holding the filter with one hand you would push and release quickly the water dispenser lever. The pressure should pop the filter out of its socket.
My second suggestion is turn filter counterclockwise to dead stop, then take a very hot towel (protect your hands and to not touch towel to any glass shelves) and wrap it around the filter. This method will hopefully warm the water in the filter causing the water to expand and help push the filter out of its socket.
My third suggestion would be more extreme. Turn the water supply off. Turn filter counterclockwise to dead stop, then drill a hole in the side of the filter to allow air into the filter to release any vacuum in the filter allowing you to pull it out of the socket.
If none of these work then the filter socket probably will have to be disconnected so you can get it out of the compartment and get a better grip on all.
I have never had to go that far myself.

Good luck and I hope I have helped you.

Removing bolt in agitator arm

The bolt unscrews counterclockwise. Hold the agitator by the bottom vanes. If it won',t budge try tightening it first, just a little to break it free.

The drain pump only turns 1 turn counterclockwise and clicks to a stop. What happened?

To check the pump you should remove it from the washer and try to rotate its pulley manually to both sides. If it doesn't turn freely (frozen or stiff) look for foreign object inside the pump. In case the pump is clean and doesn't turn freely, you should replace it/ Good luck !
