Re: WA840G firmware went bad :(

Hi, Based on your post/description, I would assume that though you did not complete the upgrade, you were able to restore the WA840G to the original/old firmware. Second, you still wish to upgrade again but using a different method other than web configuration. Perhaps you can try a telnet session to or the default which is or the IP add you have set it to if you have modified it before. I have successfully tried this on a LinkSys WRT54G & NetGear MR814V2. Might or might not work for you. "?" or help should give you the basic line commands. But then again, if the system has crashed and the unit is bricked, that is a harder problem and you might be better off replacing the unit. Hope this be of some idea/help. Post back how things are or should you need further information. Good luck and kind regards.

From my reading at the Apple support web site, it appears that you may need to download the latest version of the Airport Utility in order to get around this issue.
Additionally, Apple has just recently come up with an update to the firmware for this device.
Try downloading the latest version of the Airport Utility (Mac or Windows) and see if that doesn't resolve the issue.
After installing the latest version of the Airport Utility, try to connect to the Airport Express. If that is successful with the new version, click the "Manual Setup" button to display the "Summary" page for the Airport Express.
Next to the entry for "Version:" there should be a button to press to upgrade the firmware to the latest version (7.5.2). Perform the upgrade by following the on screen directions.
After the upgrade, again attempt to connect to the Airport Express using the Airport Utility. This should work as expected.
Before attempting to use the AirTunes (recently renamed "AirPlay"), make sure that you have the latest version of iTunes installed.

Motorola WA840G is Bricked

Assuming you have done the Upgrade correctly do the following:

Clearing the Web Browser Cache
After you upgrade, you may need to clear the cache to view
the upgraded Web page properly:
1 Open a Web browser, such as Microsoft Internet
2 Select Tools\Internet Options.
3 In the Temporary Internet files box, click Delete
4 In the Delete Files dialog box, select the Delete all
offline content check box and then click OK. Click OK

To access the Web-based configuration pages:
1 Open a Web browser. In the URL field, type (the router’s default IP address) and
press Enter.
2 At the Motorola Wireless Broadband Router login
window, type your user name in the User name box (if
you changed it from the factory default (admin) the last
time you upgraded).
3 Type your password in the Password box (if you
changed it from the factory default (motorola using all
lowercase) the last time you upgraded). Then click OK.
The Basic configuration page appears.

Can not connect to the WA840G.

The problem was that WA840G was not configured with the "open access" option, and that's why my USR PCMCIA card can not authentify automatically because it has not got a correct user ID and password to get access into network. Solucion: configure the WA840G access point to and "open access" system.
