I woke up one morning and the TV was off...I didn't hear a pop or anything. When I would try to turn the TV on it would just buzz (like something was warming up) and 5 sec. later the TV would turn off. It is now 3 weeks later... The TV's audio goes on and the screen is black. The lights by the power button are solid red for 10 sec and then the green blinks fast and the TV turns off...this continues until you turn the TV off.
This just happened to me and it was the bulb. A fast easy way to check is to unplug your tv, remove the side door on the left side (left side if you are looking at the screen) and remove the 2 screws holding in the bulb case and remove. If there is glass in there and the wires are just hanging out inside the bulb, its done. Replace bulb and all is good again.

Hello, This is a problem that a lot of sets are having the overcurrent protection circuit is turning of the set dur to components going bad and drawing excessive current. Now the fix of the day is to replace the two convergence modules, but I am begining to think that something is seriously wrong with these sets and by just replacing the convergence modules you are actually hiding the problem rather then fixing it. So I would ask that you take this set to a qualified tv repair shop, and ask them for a repair report on the work done to get your set working and why did they take the action that they did. But if you just want to get the set up and running here goes the parts that have been failing are the two STK392-110 replacing these "fix" the problem at times. Some forums even have folks replacing the stk392-110s with the STK392-150s, let me warn you, this upgrade requires the changing of the bias resistors, and I would advise you to get a schematic, in aiding you in your quest to repair this set. I know that this might not seem helpful to you but it actually is.
