Question about Sony PlayStation 2 (PS2) Console
I moved recently and I haven't been able to get my PS2 to work ever since. The disc spins, but there is no sound or picture on the TV. I have bought new cables and it didn't appear to work. I have tried to hook the system up to 3 different TVs and still nothing. Any suggestions?
When you moved did you leave the cords plugged into the unit and just wrap them around it? If so, you broke the A/V jack and it will have to be resoldered or replaced. If not, then we'll have to go over some other options.

SOURCE: PS2 Disc does not spin
just because you see read doesn't mean the laser is good.
the laser has to read the toc (table of contents) for it to read the toc it must be at the beginning, it must be at the right depth from lens to cd and the spindle must spin. now if you have to spin the spindle that means it most like is not reaching the beginning of the cd or the spindle motor is bad.

You would be better off with rubbing alcohol and a q-tip actually. If you are able to, take the case off and blow out as much of the dust as you can, and give everything a thourough and gentle going over with alcohol + q-tip.
