Question about Seagate FreeAgent Go 250 GB USB 2.0 Hard Drive
This is unfortunately a common problem, if the drive is actually damaged you will likely need a pro like myself to get your data back. If it's only a software problem you can usually find a cheaper software recovery program that will do the trick.
What you need to do is go to the SeaGate website www.seagate.com and download SeaTools
install and run the program, select your drive(if it doesn't show up you need a pro)
select the smart test, then short generic then long generic. If it fails on any of them it's likely time for a pro, if it passes them all let me know and I'll point you to the appropriate cheaper software solution.
