There is no region free firmware available for your player at the moment. There is a guy in australia who has created one but will not release it. HD DVD's dont have region coding. I assume its for regular dvds?
You can change the DVD region four times only, the fourth change will lock on that region permanently. There may be a firmware upgrade that make your DVD region free, but if you make a mistake or install the wrong firmware upgrade then the DVD will be a piece of junk. You will need to Google search for DVD firmware upgrades for your model DVD.
The best way to view DVDs from other regions is to install a piece of software that defeats the region code. I use a program called DVD-RegionFree from www.dvdidle.com There are possibly other programs available, again Google search for them.
Turn on DVD, press Home and then go to setup on your remote, scroll down to the lock on the left hand menu and then press 0 seven times on your remote(or untill a message appear), press enter, done! Now your DVD is regionfree! To access the "0" button, pull down the slide section at the bottom of the remote
