There really is no generic "Optimum Settings"... It basically comes down to what looks good to YOU. If you really want to get it as close to the original source recording as possible, get a movie like "Fantasia 2000" that has the THX video optimizer. The disc has a series of tests and procedures to help you configure the video settings for the most accurate picture.

Cable boxes don't have a universal remote. They have to be different than the television remotes and they are make and model specific.

I HAVE A JVC T.V.MODEL#JLC47BC3002 I HAVE OPTIMUM SERVICE NO VOLUME CONTROL ON THE REMOTE AND TV DOESN,T SHUT OFF THE TV, BUT SHUTS OFF THE CABLE RECEIVER

Well, if this is not the original remote then it may not be set to the right number to operate all the functions of the TV. If it is the original remote then either it or the set have a problem. Sounds like a remote not set up correctly problem to me tho.

Hello, My winXP cannot recognize monitor Asus VH232T - windows suggests 4:3 resolutions only. Can you please advise where can I download the monitor driver? Video card is ATI RADEON XPRESS 200 Thank...

Hi

Monitors do not generally require drivers. The .inf drivers to run almost all monitors are already in Windows.

The problem here is in the settings of the graphics card.

Many users aim for Maximum resolution, when what they should aim for is Optimum resolution, balancing the RAM, CPU, GPU, GRAM and Monitor''s resources in the most efficient and effective way.

Keeping the relevant software updated also has an impact on graphics performance (grpahics Card Drivers, Java, Flash, DirectX, Video Codecs, etc.)

If the video resolution is set too high (or too low), beyond the graphics capabilities of the monitor, on reboot, the monitor will be unable to resolve the image.

The simplest solution would be to use a different monitor to adjust the video resolution, shut down then test the preferred monitor again.

Right Click on desktop>Properties>Settings then use the slider scale to adjust resolution, then Apply, Yes on the optimum setting, them OK.

Find the optimum setting in XP with your graphics card for this monitor and you should be fine.

Hope this helps.

Not optimum mode recommended mode 1280x1024 60hz syncmaster 712 n pop up occasionly I have to shut down computer

Your video card and computer memory may not be sufficient to run in the recommended "optimum performance mode" that Samsung and Windows both suggest. Please try setting your display setting at a lower resolution such as 1080 x 760 which is still quite excellent. Otherwise you may need to buy a better video card or increase system memory to run the higher mode graphics.
Good Luck!

Not optimum mode

It is complaining because your PC video resolution is not set to the monitor native resolution, which is 1280 x 1024 @60Hz. Try setting your PC resolution.

Optimum settings for 32LG3000

I cannot give much of a solution based on the amount of detail you have given, but I will try.

Generally speaking most TV factory settings are set too high through the brightness and contrast controls, and this is probably the problem you're describing. I advise adjusting the brightness lower, and the contrast slightly higher.

Try watching a DVD and pausing a particular scene which has lots of dark gray's and white's and then try to figure out the optimum setting.

I have a great picture ..but wondered what others setting users found to be optimum... have a 42 panasonic 80u

To get the opt out pitcture is first your signal & your happy with that. So, I would contact a local store or service center that does calibrations. They will go into your service menu & adjust your tv to it's max. Enjoy...hd.
