MY xbox 360 will read dvds but when i enter a game it goes to the disc error screen

Have you tried to get this system flashed?

What's happening is .. which could be a couple of things..

1.) Your Firmware board on your ODD Drive is telling the Drive to spin at a certain speed. The speed its currently spinning at is too slow to read a game, but fast enough to read a DVD disc.

2.) This could also be a motor or laser issue.


I would suggest sending it in for repair. There is nothing you can do without opening it to fix it.
