lila, yes you have to put the battery on the charger to charge the battery, if not the charger wont charge anything, after you put the battery on the charger hold, before that don't forget to equalize the pin charge with the battery there was a marking or emboss note negative pole and positive pole for the battery fit on it charge, then you can go for the electric plug. For additional note there is light indicator green for full battery, orange for the half battery energy and the last one is red light blink for the on going charge the battery. i hope it help, remember safety first.
Steps : Check the type of batteries you are using. Many a times , less powerful batteries gives issues. When u r charging External charger with battery - will give you blinking light .. which is the indicator for charging.. Check the manuals of the charger to see the meaning .. I feel that you need a replacement battery Or charger needs a repair.. Your question is not very clear though.!
hi, once you charge your battery and the red light blink it means your NP-20 battery is damage and you need to buy new one.TIP- charge 1.5 hours only and if youre not using you camera for a long time its better to remove the battery.
I had the same problem with flashing red lights. Both sides on a four battery charger. I swapped the batteries to another charger and the batteries were fine. They charged normally. I put some different batteries in the charger and the same flashing light situation. Those batteries also charged normally in a different charger. I looked closely at the back of the charger and, low and behold, "made in China". Why does that not surprise me. The bottom line, it may not be a battery issue.
if it does not come on at all the battery may not be having contact or the AC Adaptor not
plugged in correctly.
if its Blinking red and wont charge then Battery is
defective replace the battery. Battery can also be defective if the led light never turns green during charging
As you know, solid red on your charger means that the battery is fully charged and the BLINKING red light means the battery is charging. Unless the light is blinking irradically everything is working the way it is supposed to. If the light is blinking irradically, the battery may just be too hot or too cold to charge ( like when you are driving many lags and your battery dies) and in this case simply wait 15 minutes to charge. If you get a fast blinking light still, the problem probably is with the battery.
i would replace the charger 1st seeing as its the cheapest thing to do. if that doesnt solve the problem. return the charger to where ever you got it from and purchase a new battery.
sounds like a dead battery. Plug the origional charger into it and the front led (below the flash) should flash red. If the red led in the back of the camera flashes or stays lit, then you have the wrong charger plugged in. (the camera won't power up if the back red/green led is on when plugged in)
