Question about Cameras
I have been given a canonixus40 camera by my son and I would like to download my photos through my computer. Would you please be able to tell me how to go about this and do I need to purchase anything? My son lives in London and has returned home I do not have anything except the actual camera
The easiest method is to purchase a CF card reader. Once plugged into your computer you can remove the card from the camera and place it into the reader. A new drive will become available to the computer and you can then browse and copy image as if it was just another drive.
If you prefer to download directly off the camera you will need two things, a USB-A to Mini B cable(very common cable, try any electronics/computer store) and some drivers. The driver you require depends on what computer and operating system you use.(eg Macintosh/PC and Windows 2000/XP/Vista). Once you know this you can download the driver from the Canon website. They also have use manuals for you to download too if you wish to learn a little more about the camera.
