Ibanez Weeping Demon WD7 Wah pedal is not working properly

The ''AUTO SW'' mode on my Ibanez Weeping Demon WD7 Wah pedal is not working. It is supposed to automatically turn on when the wah pedal is slightly depressed. When the pedal is released and goes back to the all the way up position, the effect turns off. Mine won't turn off anymore. It is on from the moment I move the lever to this mode. My ''FOOT SW'' mode works just fine but I prefer the ''AUTO SW'' mode. I've tried adjusting the ''Spring Tension Adjuster'' thinking maybe it wasn't returning the pedal to the all the way up position and thus not letting it turn off, but that didn't work. I'm on stage at least 4 to 5 times a month and practice and use it at least 3 or 4 times a week. l need help quick!!! Thanks!!

Sounds like a problem with the optical sensor. Your best bet would be to try to get a replacement from Ibanez or take it to a repairman. They are a resistor just like a pot but work by having an LED on one side and an optical "eye" on the other reading the amount of light passed thru transparent film. Morley has replacements for their wahs....not sure if its the same resistance. An audio repairman should hook you up.

First thing is to verify that the in and out cable are to the correct side. These units will bypass in the wrong direction so the fact they pass when off does not guarantee they are cabled correctely. Other problems can include broken solder at the in or out connector. Dos the indicator light come on?

First thing to ty is to try it using two 9 volt batteries as a test to see if lights work.

I ASSUME that you are NOT trying to use the pedal in the external effects loop (send and return) as the levels are not compatible. The pedal must be between the guitar and the inout of the amp.

Beyond this I would open the unit and look for something loose or broken where the blue LED is located.

You can get the feet at home depot in the hardware section. They should be in the specialty drawers.
you may be able get the knob there also. if not, Radioshack has a small selection of replacement knobs. Do you need the 3-way switch also?

You put the pedal where???? The guitar goes through the pedal. This is NOT to be used in an external effects loop of an amp. The signal levels are wrong as the effects loop is LINE LEVEL and the pedal is for instrument signal levels. Move the pedal to before the inout of your amp as it is designed to be used.

All lights on and no sound . Only work in bypass .

Make sure you have the in and output cable to the correct side. If backward it would act as yours does. If they are correct, time for servicing the unit.

When i select the wah pedal funtion, it does not make the wah

You are apparently talking about an FX pedal with a built in wah function. Which pedal and model number? The Digitech RP350 for instance has a special procedure for initializing and recalibrating the pedal. Is that the problem or is it maybe the opto isolator ?

Weeping Demon pedal broke

Suspect that the circuit board may have cracked in the vicinity of the power jack. Also check for a switch under the pedal. SOme have them and it might be broken.
