Question about Matrix Star SP200 Receipt Printer
I have a dos based POS system that needs to print to a STAR SP 200 receipt printer. The computer was upgraded to windows xp and now we cant print receipts. I can get the computer to talk to the printer and the POS to send a report to it but it will not actually print a receipt. Has anything been figured out with this problem? I see people have been aware of it for a while. Thanks for any help you can give me.

In your accounting software is there a way to add a greeting or salutation to the bottom of your receipts? Something like Thanks for your business come again soon? I'm wondering if someone got into that part of the software and although they didn't actually type any greeting or message in there that the printer would print but maybe instead put in a blank area by hitting the enter key several times so that the printer saw the space there and created it? If that isn't a solution i'd need to know more about your accounting software.

I believe you are out of luck. Quickbook only support new generation of receipt printer. The SP200 is considered an old printer even so I am sure it still works great. For a painless install with Quickbooks by the Star TSP100.
