Question about Adler Royal HT500X Shredder
Shredder suddenly did not work; took it apart; cleaned out the inside of it thoroughly and soldered a severed wire to the feed switch. The motor runs fine and all the gears go around when I feed a piece of paper into it, but the 2 roller shafts with the shredder teeth on them do not budge at all. As a result, the paper is not pulled into the teeth. There does not appear to be anything jammed in the teeth or disconnected at the gears. Is there some kind of a parts breakdown I could look at that would allow me direction when taking it apart and putting it back together. Any suggestions? What type of maintenance should I perform on it when I get it fixed? Thanks.
Will it work in reverse? Can you see the gears are they all moving? Is there a set pin?

SOURCE: Fellowes PS-70 Shredder jam
I used needle-nose pliers and regular pliers to pull out all of the jammed paper -- it took an hour but I finally got it. I never did find a release mechanism even after I took the top apart. Thanks anyway!

After clearing the jam (with the unit unplugged!), let the unit cool completely, then try using it again. A notice on the nameplate inside my unit says: "2 min on/4 min off." Apparently, a thermal cutoff keeps it from overheating by automatically preventing continued operation that might otherwise melt the parts. So heed the directions. I had the same problem with my NoviTech Model PS-026/B2 crosscut shredder (max: 5 sheets, 1 credit card). Also, make sure the motor mechanism is seated square and flush on the bin. I tried testing it out of the bin, and the green ready light wouldn't come on -- for a good reason: safety. (I still have all of my fingers, thanks to that!) Hope this helps.

check the cutter slot, there should have a micro switch with a level, that detect the paper when the paper is in the slot.
the micro switch may be dirty or some thing is preventing it from starting.

This TS4500 shredder had been discontinued for more than 5 years. The factory did not make any spare parts for this model.
