    i've changed the cartridges many times in the past and have never had to do all that. the alignment problem began before we changed the cartridges, we changed them becuase we thought that might clear the alignement problem that cropped up out of the blue.

Unfotunately,you have to go through the whole process of realigning the printer every time you install new catridges.so that the printer and computer knows it is full of ink again.otherwise it will still assume its out of ink.so just go back to the same way when you bought it to align the print catridges.just click on the control panel,then cick on printers and hardware,then double click the printer and scroll down to properties.double click it,go to maintenance click that and follow step by step instructions.good luck

I have a color printer hp office jet 7130 all in one and its only printing in cyan. is the printhead off? or broken can it be fixed and how much would it cost?

Go to paint create black,cyan,megenta & yellow images & print it, observe which colors are not printing,If back missed replace black cartrige, if any color missed out of remain three replace colour cartridge.There is no option to switch off the catridges & printer can recognise the faulty cartridge and it will show on displays.
You can order cartridges online.

My printer is printing blank pages.

Either:
* empty ink cartridges
* clogged ink-jets, such that no ink can be sprayed onto the paper

Use the HP software to check the ink-levels in the cartridges.

Run a few "print-head-cleaning" cycles. If still no output, then replace the ink-cartridge(s).

In the middle of a print job, my cartridge refill stops feeding ink. Printer MN J4680. Does this printer hold the cartridge # in memory in order to stop one from refilling?

HP printers do not remember the cartridge serial number to reject refills (certain Canon printers do though). It sounds like you have an air bubble in the sponge that is inhibiting ink from reaching the print head. I would guess that either you or the store/internet seller that refilled this cartridge hand filled it. These cartridges should be filled under a vacuum to remove air bubbles from the sponge and allow you to fully fill the cartridge (an air bubble takes up space that your ink could be occupying). I recommend Cartridge World or Office Depot for refills. Avoid internet sellers and refill shops that have one giant all-in-one machine that does the filling for them.

Hi yvetteb92,

Please allign the catridges on the printer, using printer front panel menu settings.
Click setup scrol down to tools and u would have option to allign the catridges, allign it and it should take care of the problem.
