Not pulling the cards

My printer does not pull the cards, it just doesn't roll to pull it and it makes a horrible noise while trying to do so. I've already changed the thickness but it doesn't work. What can it be?

Is there any way to remove the paper jammed inside the HL-1440 Laser Printer? I tried to pull it out, but the paper just tears.

Use your fingers to rotate the rolls until the paper rolls out -try to pull the paper out slowly next time it usually will roll out sorry to sound condescending but it will 90 times out of 100 come out without tearing.

One more try. My C7280 printer makes terrible noises when it pulls the paper through for printing. I have tried reinserting the back part where I clear paper jams, but it does not help. Also this...

Without hearing the noise or having a description other than "horrible", I'd say probably the pickup clutch or the gears that turn it are having an issue and need to be replaced.
To my knowledge you can't order either of these parts (it's not like the good old days) but at least it's replacement is on sale at the moment for $79.99 from HP.COM (probably what you'd have to pay to get yours fixed at a shop).
the D110A is the least expensive photosmart all in one at the moment.
Keep your 7280 as a scanner though if the ADF (auto document feeder) is important to you when scanning, the D110A is flatbed only.

Horrible grinding noise

The problem sounds like a broken or stripped gear in the printer. If the unit is under warranty I would contact the authorized repair station for that printer in your local area.

Can't allign the paper.

make sure that the paper roll is pushed all the way down on the rod and the piece that you put on it is fitted snuggly against the roll. When you pull the paper through the feeder pull it about 2-3 feet outward and it should align.

this happened to me and cost me £1 to get a fix from ebay. so here it is for free. The ink pad under where the printer head parks is full.Turn the printer on. Hold the stop maintenance and power buttons down for about 10 seconds. You will hear a horrible grinding noise. PULL OUT THE MAINS CABLE. Turn the printer back on and pull the mains cable out when the head moves to the left. Use kitchen roll to soak up lots of the ink. Use kitchen roll to soak up the ink about once a month. Worked for me for over a year now
