Re: W2562 Mobo

Your best bet would be to try to trace the pinout using the faulty Dell case. It's extremely unlikely that anyone has done a wiremap for this. Sorry, realize this isn't the answer you're looking for, but is a suggestion.

I inherited a Dell dimension 9100 that had a buggy motherboard. Since this seems a common problem for this model I'm replacing it with an Intel DG965MS. I altered the case for the back panel and everything...

Well the only thing I can think of is to use a multimeter to trace the connections on where they go, and a little trial and error should do it after that. Had to do something similar on a 8200.

Front panel connection to mother board Power switch pin

Hi careyfraser,

1. There are 8 wires from the front panel's casing, excluding USB connectors and front audio cable.

2. Just plug the front panel switch headers to the F_Panel main board connectors. 1 & 2 are positive, if the led do not light change polarity but Im sure it will.

Note:The mainboard provides a front panel connector for electrical connection to the front panel switches and LEDs. JFP1 is compliant with Intel® Front Panel I/O Connectivity Design Guide.

Hopefully this information helps.

Thank you for using FixYa.

I want to get a usb 3.0 hub and plug it to the asus p8p67 pro on the middle of the mother board. What kind of connection is it?

The header bus above is for the USB Front Panel interface:

This is included in many of the various flavors of the MoBo. If you're looking to use the MoBo connector to supply something other than this Front Panel interface, you're going to need to obtain the pinout of the jack on the motherboard and compare it to the signals required by your USB 3.0 device. The one from Asus is simply gathers the wires and forms them in a single shell - then keys the shell to prevent reverse insertion.

Think of what you have to do as the way USB 2.0 headers are provided on MoBo and the way PC cases have USB jacks built in. The USB header isn't standard; some have 9 pins - some even have 10! They can't seem to get on the same page as to how many pins are needed. The location of the signals on the header are probably different from brand to brand, too. So, the case manufacturers break up all the individual wires and label the signal so that YOU can check the MoBo manual and plug each one in to the correct pin.

Can't remember where the wires go on the motherboard Dell ry206 can anyone help please?

what wires are you referencing?
this is a SATA MOBO with 24 pin power and 4 pin CPU. the wires to front of case are labeled on wire end and MOBO Blue sata is usually primary to Hard drive but should be labled 1,2,3,4. wires in back are USB Keyboar & mouse, lan and speaker

Why are the wires off?

Dell optiplex gx260 mother board

It would be easier to order the cable and front panel board assy as one. easy on ebay.
I have worked on them for years and never bothered to trace them out. and dell doesn't post the pinout anywhere.
If you can't find one I can get it for you cheap.

Dell dimension monitor output broke away from motherboard and now i get no output to monitor to "wake it up", nevermind being able to see anything on it. As soon as i unplug the monitor cable from the pin...

Depending on how much it has broke away, you may be able to resolder it back on, or find someone who can. Other than that it will be a new board, I suspect.

It seems at least a few connections are OK, so probably worth a try, before scrapping it.
