The power light is on a solid green on the unit. However, there is no indication that it is responding to anything. Nothing happens when a button is pressed on neither the remote nor unit itself. We can't even turn the power off by the power button on the unit or on the remote. And since the unit is installed in the ceiling, we don't know if there even is a plug. But if there is one, it is encased in the pole that attaches the unit to the ceiling.
I hope this problem makes sense to someone and that there is an easy solution.

My projector makes a high pitched noise upon power-up then noise subsides after warm up and returns occasionally. what can that be? My projector is only 3 years old. and my only other problem has been replacing the lamp 3 times. I would appreciate your comment. Tanks,

I was watching HDTV and the image went out. I tried other inputs and no luck. the only ones working are S-Vid... any ideas? I have tried multiple connections and cables that are working with other TV's without any luck. I get menus, and nothing else. It seemed to come back now and then for a couple of seconds, but goes away immediately. now it doesn't come on at all with those inputs. Thank you all in advance!

I bought an InFocus 5700 projector from eBay, it seems to be in good working order as when plugged in the LED turns green and then when the power button is hit the LED flashes green- as explained it should in the manual. However after a few minutes the flashing green LED changes to a flashing red LED. As in the manual I have counted a two second interval between each flash and there is only one red LED flash per sequence, this suggests that "the lamp wont strike after 5 attempts" as the manual states for this error sequence of flashes. Based on other forum posts I have checked the lamp door and the it is correctly sealed with the door trip switch in working order and switched "on". With this in mind I can only think that the lamp has blown. However it was sold to me on the basis that the lamp has only 200 hours, so it should be fine. Inspection of the lamp has me wondering. In the silver part of the lamp there are two holes each with a small metal ring around the hole. Only one hole has a filament wire coming from it to central column in the lamp whilst the other hole is empty. Does anyone know if there is supposed to be two filament parts, one coming from each hole or even better can someone send me a picture of an intact bulb? If I can gather as much information about how to inspect the bulb for if its blown as possible, it could save me £300 should it mean I don't end up buying a spare bulb I don't need! thanks
