No a DVD recorded on a PC for use on another PC should be fine.. ensure you finalise the DVD though.

you are playin a dvd drom a different region.

You could get a region free dvd player, OR you could install "slysoft any dvd" to your PC as this lets your PC dvd drive run region free.

If you live in Australia, you can only play UK or PAL Blu-Rays or those that are region free. DVD Region X doesn't work on the PS3.
