LG V271 DVD VCR Combo problem

The dvd tray in my LG V271 DVD/ VCR combo won't stay closed. When trying to load a dvd it reopens the tray immediately. After 6 to 10 attempts it may finally work. When the unit is turned off the tray closes. It started to happen just after the warranty ran out.
Can anyone help please???

Try cleaning the player. with a dvd clean disk..for about $5.00 to $7.00.... and wipe down the player.
sometimes dust and trash gets in the way and will not close properly and you end up closing an closing until the trash get out of the way... cleaning it will help..

Hi,
a 6ya expert can help you resolve that issue over the phone in a minute or two.
best thing about this new service is that you are never placed on hold and get to talk to real repairmen in the US.
the service is completely free and covers almost anything you can think of (from cars to computers, handyman, and even drones).
click here to download the app (for users in the US for now) and get all the help you need.
goodluck!

LG dvd player/vcr combo' dvd works fine. vcr records/play, has sound has NO PICTURE? PLEASE HELP

Possible that the VIDEO HEAD is dirty , could be clogged with ferrite dust or fungus from an old cassette. If you have a cleaning tape please try it ON the set for sometime.
If not a manual cleaning can help but with great caution as the tiny ferrite heads on the Head drum is very fragile. So use a piece of paper to carefully rub along the drum using soft action , DO NOT ATTEMPT HARD ACTION GET THE FERRITE CAUGHT INTO.
If there is no result the head can be faulty but it can be confirmed after a close check up or a continuity test after removing. Require good experience to attempt.

When the open/close button is push , the DVD tray open and it close immediately without pushing button. The tray won't stay in the open positions.

check the close circuit switch inside the system. its maybe stuck, try to wiggle it a bit and it might work again.
the switch is at the end of the tray when it is closed, its a small black push botton swith.
be careful not to fry it when installing a new part

(ps,its not in the manual, cuz there is nothing you can really do about it without serviceing the unit)

I'm not sure about this, but I think you should re-align the tray for the DVD Player part of the Combo.
