I do not know my sound card but i know my motherboard that is intel pentium3, how can i found my sound driver? please help me,thanks.

if your computer came with a motherboard disc the sound drivers could be on it
you might have to uninstall then reinstall both the sound drivers and the sound card make sure you have both of these devices backed up to a disc before uninstalling
a yellow? question mark means you need to install/update driver to do this
right click to install driver also
click start control panel administrive tools computer management device manager scroll to sound, video and game controllers you might see a yellow question mark? Right click to reinstall drivers
click start control panel sounds and audio, volume, advanced, speakers select appropriate speakers also audio you will find 3 drop down lists make sure you have the correct settings there
also
click start control panel sounds and audio devices you can adjust the volume there also select speaker volume you can change your settings there you can also tick in the box place icon in taskbar
if his does not fix the problem

have you tried this control panel sounds and audio, volume, advanced, speakers select the appropriate speakers from the drop down list or navigate to the device manager scroll to system devices + to expand, system speaker right click properties then select use this device (enable)

hope this helps

My computer xp not come sound volme icon, what i do

Please check if the sound driver is installed, if sould is available but the sound icon is missing please follow the following steps.

Click on start
Click on settings / control pannel
Click on Sound and audio devices
In the volume tab you will find a check box Place volume control icon in the taskbar

check this box if you need to have a volume icon in the system tray / notification area.

If the above option is not working or sound driver is not installed, please download the updated driver from the website or the CD that came along with the sound card and then try the same steps above.

No sounds

first thing check the mute on the volume icon in the tray area..than if this is not the issue ..double click the volume icon in the task bar and check on the volume controls if the wave volume is up ...and all the others ..(and not muted) ..
If all seam to be ok ..you have to reinstall the sound driver ...
If you have a PCI sound card ..you should have a sound driver that came with the card ..if the card is on board..than the sound driver is on the disk that has all the motherboard drivers ...Insert the disk in this case..and browse it for to locate the driver for audio and run it into the computer ...at the finish restart and the sound should be on ..
if after this operation the sound is not on ..it means that either the sound card is fried..or the speakers are not functional ...try another ones..and in case of the sound card ..change it ..

I recently reformatted my laptop due to a virus problem. I tried to play a video and no sound came out, and there is no volume icon on the task bar. When i click on volume control, the area was shaded gray...

You should install the sound card driver. The proper drivers should be given while buying your laptop. If not or you lost it, you cn download the driver from acer's site.

My acer 5570 does not play any sound when I plug in headphones or a 5.1 system. please help

What operating sustem are you running? If windows, you most likely haven't loaded the sound card drive. Or if yes. then open" Adjust Audio Properties" by right clicking the speaker icon in the system tray. Choose the tab "Audio". Next select the tab "Volume" and make sure there are no checks in any of the boxes and the master volume slider is about 1/3 way up.

Sound card problerm

Here's your GEEK-steer, from GEEKinator, the GEEKster ...

I'm presuming that the sound is actually working, and the missing icon is your only problem. If so, then there's no problem with your sound card.

I also presume you mean it's missing from your system "Notification Area" (aka "system tray"/"systray" located on the bottom right next to the clock on your "Taskbar").

If you're refering to your actual sound card GUI's (graphical user interface) icon:
  1. Open its program (should be somewhere in your list of program shortcuts within your Start button menu.
  2. Find the configuration area within that program that toggles on/off the icon you're missing, and viola!
If you're referring to the Windows "Volume" icon:
  1. Open "Sounds and Audio devices" in your list of "Control Panel" items.
  2. Check mark "Place volume icon in the taskbar" found on the "Volume" tab, and viola!
NOTE: You may need to restart (reboot) for the change to take effect.
