The belt may not be broken but it might be stretched past its limits check and see if the electric motor is spinning when the belt is off but my personal suggestion is take a digital picture of the belt on the pulley and tensioner so you can reference it when putting it back together

I have an LG-WD-1433RD . My dryer wont spin dry what would be the problem

Most basically it can be 2 things assuming it powers on and the touch controls act normally.

1. The belt that drives the tumbler around is broken and therefore it isn't spinning.

2. The motor that spins the tumbler is blown out and needs to be replaced. Again, no spinning.

In either case they are an easy fix and most any good dryer repair tech can fix it quickly. I've done this type of repair myself, but you have to be handy AND careful because if the exposed sheet metal edges. I always wore gloves and a long sleeve shirt.

Good luck. Having your dryer out stinks!

Hope this helps, please don't forget to rate or ask a follow-up question.

The motor is running, but the drum isn't spinning.problem with dryer.

Nine times out of ten it's a broken belt, but there are other factors that can cause this problem.

Broken belt -- Replace with an identical belt. Line up the new belt with the markings on the drum from the old one. Wind it around both the motor pulley and the idler pulley.

Roller could be bad -- Underneath the tumbler is a roller that the tumbler sits on. It may have become too worn to work properly and may need replacing. Replacing it is simple - just remove the tumbler to gain access and then remove the retaining clip on the roller and slide it off. Reverse the process to install a new one.

Motor or idler pulley could be bad -- Check the pulleys to ensure they're still in working order.

Dryer drum doesn't spin

If the motor runs and the drum doesn't turn then most likely the belt is broken.

My kenmore oasis dryer comes on but doesn't run

The tumbler is belt-driven so it could be a broken or slipped belt. It isn't hard to replace the belt itself but sometimes getting to it can be a real pain. Search online for service manual or diagrams if you want to attempt it yourself.

Tumbler belt came off

  • Unplug your dryer from the electrical outlet. Remove the lint trap by lifting its cover and sliding it out. Use a screwdriver to unscrew the two screws that hold in the housing of the lint trap.Lift up the top panel of the dryer and take off the holder for the door switch wire. Look for the screws that hold in the front panel of the dryer, located on top of the front panel, and unscrew them. Take the panel off the dryer by lifting it off.Look inside the dryer, find the broken dryer belt, and before taking it off, note the way it is routed around the pulleys, then take it off. Install a new Whirlpool dryer belt by slipping it around the tumbler with the grooves facing the surface of the tumbler. Ask an assistant to hold up the tumbler while you move the belt into the proper place, aligned with the black line around the width of the tumbler.Wrap the new dryer belt around the pulleys as noted in Step 3. If you don't remember how, or the old belt was snapped and not aligned properly, look at the dryer belt diagram in your user's manual.Align the front panel of the dryer with the tumbler. Put back in the two screws that hold the panel in place. Open the door of your dryer and with your hand, turn the spinner one time counterclockwise. Reconnect the holder for the door switch wire, being careful that it doesn't touch any moving parts.Use the screwdriver to carefully position the rubber seal along the back of the tumbler. Make sure the seal is on the outside of the tumbler and that none of it sticks to the inside of the tumbler.Slide the lint filter and housing back into place, and screw in the two screws that hold it in. Plug the cord of the dryer back into the electrical outlet and check that it spins properly.

Dryer wont spin but will heat still

f you can hear a hum then the motor may be bad or the tumbler is stuck. If you don't then the motor may be bad or the belt may be broken. If you can hear a hum then it probably wouldn't be worth fixing, I would suggest getting a new one. If you can't, open it up and see what's wrong

    Drum not spinning

Pretty easy fix. start by popping the top
Once you get that up then remove the front. The rear hatch gives access to the idler assembly, look in there to see the status of the belt before popping the top. The bumping could have been from a bad st of glides on front or a bad bearing on back. Impossible to tell till ya give it a look see.
