Question about D-Link RangeBooster G DPR-1260 (DPR1260) Print Server

2 Answers

HP LP1020 I just bought a DRP-1260. When connecting my 2 printers - a somewhat older HP DJ5150 - a brand new HP LJ 1020 Both printers got detected correct by the print server. But the DJ got status ready while the LJ 1020 got status Offline. Using the installation exe which you download from the configuration page of the print server, I was able to install both printers. In windows they both appear online. On the status page of the print server, the DJ appears ready while the LJ 1020 appears Offline. When trying to print, the DJ works fine, while the LJ1020 doesn't do anything. Switching my LJ on and off doesn't seem to work. To the print server it is offline. Anyone got this working with a LJ 1020? I mailed to get support from Dlink but as for now they only told me that it is not on their compatibility list. Even though i found a list of compatible printers on the website of dlink taiwan on which the LJ1020 is said to be compatible. Thx

Re: HP LP1020

It seems that I found an imperfect solution. When you intall the printer on your PC and print a testpage, the firmware is sent from PC to printer and is stored in the printers internal memory. When you unplug your printer from your pc and plug it in on your printserver it should work fine as the firmware has been loaded alraedy. You can't switch of the printer nor the printserver or the firmware needs to be uploaded again via your printer. There is no way at the moment to load the firmware upon booting of the printer by the print server. Hopefully this issue will get resolved in the near future.

Hi, to make sure your printer is online. Please do these steps:

? On your windows 7 computer, please go to control panel and click printers and faxes.
? From printers and faxes, you can see your printer icon, right click the printer icon and select online.
? Try to print and that should be working.

DLink DPR 1260 lost connection

Are the small printer icons lit up on the face of the PServer? Mine has recently started losing connectivity and simply unplugging the power and plugging it back in restores full function. Still looking for the reason it just started doing it though..

Not printing to network attached printer

I have a DLink DPR-1260, and found the configuration to be challenging too. First of all, has it ever worked? If not, you may need to check your router config to ensure that they are both on the same subnet. Typically they come set to 192.168.x.x... if the router is set to, the print server is set to, and your subnet mask is set to it'll never connect. Make sure that the router and print server are configured to the same subnet... 192.168.1.x for example... and then try it. Let us know if that doesn't resolve your issue, and we'll keep working with you.
