Why are pages printed on my HP LaserJet 3380 rather faint. Per haps the toner needs replacing but is there anyway to find this out. I do not want to buy another toner unless the toner does need to be...

Open the copier and remove the cartridge. Shake the cartridge back and forth, up and down for a few moments and reinstall. If copy quality improves, start saving up to buy the replacement. If it doesn't, use a credit card because you need it now.

HOW TO CHANGE INK CARTRIDGES ON EPSON 305

For the Epson Stylus NX305, turn on the printer, if it is currently off. Next if the LCD message reads replace ink, press OK and then lift the scanner unit until it locks into place. Open the ink cartridge cover (it pivots towards the user). Then squeeze the tab on the cartridge to be replaced and lift it up. (Press towards the center of the cartridge.) Next take the new cartridge and shake it 5 times while in the package. Open the package and carefully (without touching the green chip) remove the yellow tape from the bottom of the cartridge. Insert the new cartridge into the appropriate slot and press down until it clicks. Repeat this for all cartridges that need to be replaced. Then close the ink cartridge cover and press down until it clicks as well. Lower the scanner unit. Then press OK to charge the ink system. This step will take about 2 minutes. Then press Menu to exit the menu system.

If you are replacing ink cartridges that are not empty. You need to enter the Menu and select Replace Ink Cartridges. (Press Copy/Fax then press Menu > select Maintenance and press OK > Select Ink Cartridge Replacement and press OK.)

I hope this helps.

My printer has new ink cartridges yet when i print or copy a document it is real faint almost as if it is out of or getting low on ink. patrick

Hey there! I get that sometimes, too.
Well, if you are using those laser black & white printers:
  • Take out the cartridge
  • Make sure there is no 'long piece of paper that locks it'
  • Otherwise shake it vigorously
I hope I helped you & that this was helpful at most! Let me know & Don't forget to rate! :) marinora_18.jpeg

Copier acted like it needed new toner cartridge, but when I replaced, copies are still very faded. When I adjust for darker copy, then I end up with dark shadows. This is Canon PC 921.

the 1st thing you need to determine is where the faint copies are coming from. is it copies or prints (from your PC.

if its the just the copies that are faint it is could be due to the optic section (these are the mirrors in the scan unit). if you have these cleaned with either an alcohol or ipa solvent this should bring your copy quality back to normal.
if you are having faint prints then it could be 1 of 2 things. either the transfer section (in laymen terms it pulls the toner from the drum onto the paper) has a poor connection/needs replacing. the other reason for this could be the charge unit that will be situated next to the drum. this over time will need to be serviced. be carefull with this part 1stly as the drun cant be in the light for to long and 2ndly the charge wire is a very fine and delicate wire. this can be cleaned and could get copy/print quality back to stardard, all that this needs to solve the problen is a service (clean charge wire and transfer roller or replece parts.

i hope this i more help than you need and you can get the problem sorted.

Faint mirror image when printing

It's most likely one of 2 problems...the toner cartridge or the fuser. The toner cartridge transfer roller may still be charged and keeping a little bit of the previous page's information on it, to be transferred on the next sheet. I would try a different toner cartridge first to see if that solves it.
