Question about Sony CDX-C5000X

2 Answers

The radio was working, but had to replace cars battery. Now nothing. Fuse is OK.

I replaced my cars battery and now my Sony radio model CDX-C500X won't play. It doesn't do anything. I checked the fuse and it is OK. Do you have any idea what may be wrong?

On the front of the unit there is a reset button. You will need to remove the removable face to access it. Just press the reset button with a pen or something and you're back in business.

It's normally just a blown fuse in your main fuse box under the steering wheel area. I'm assuming that when you say you checked "the fuse" you mean the one on the back of the radio unit itself.

Make sure all the wires are connected properly (especially the power and ground wires)

Good Luck!

Hi, my problem is that each time I turn off the ignition I lose all my radio settings (i.e. the station pre-sets). My Sony is a CDX-L400X. I was wondering if there is an internal battery (like a button...

Hi, the problem is likely in the wiring or possibly a burned fuse. There is a separate wire to the radio that is always hot and keeps the station and clock settings while the key is off. If you tell me the car model and year, I may be able to tell you which wire and fuse to check. Was this working originally or has it never worked?

try checking all of your fuses. there should be a fuse box in the engine compartment and another under the dash or in a kick panel. there may also be a fuse in the back of the radio.

There is a fuse in the back of the stereo unit. Also trace the red wire from the stereo to where it's connected, and check the fuse for the circuit that the stereo is connected to.

It doesnt work after battery when dead in car.. i have no remote....i got it with the car and it worked great, now it just open up and nothing....

What has most likely happened is the when the car died it was probably jumped off. Anytime a vehicle is jumped off, especially off a much larger vehicle, a "jump" of voltage is sent throughout the vehicle also known as a surge. The surge travels through the vehicle's electrical system and sometimes blows bulbs, fuses and relays. The back of your radio should have a fuse check it because It's probably blown. If the fuse is good refer to your vehicle manual to locate the fuse panel and find the radio fuse it might be blown. Hope this helps

Cannot play my portable audio device with Sony cdx c500x

It will only accept audio from the bus in conections when a multi changer is connected and selected.

This is how I connect my mp3 player to my sony.

Swap multichanger audio outputs at the rear of the stereo for my mp3 player, press source to select multichanger.

Remember as I said, if there is not a control cable connected to your multichanger it wont wotk!
