Unfortunately, you will have to purchase another battery to rule out "bad battery" or any other problem. Try buying one from ebay, you'll get it cheaper there.

good luck

Laptop will not charge

Step 1:
Windows 7 Laptop Battery not charging b> Careful management of battery charging and power consumption settings on your laptop computer is essential if you spend a lot of time away from home or the office. To stop your Microsoft Windows 7 laptop from running out of juice at a critical moment, you can change the battery and power settings for the device. Select the battery meter icon from the desktop toolbar to change the laptop's power plan.
Click the battery meter icon in the notification area on the right-hand side of the computer's desktop taskbar. This launches the battery and power plan options dialog box. Find the battery status display at the top of the dialog box. This shows the remaining charge in the laptop battery, and indicates if the battery is currently plugged into a power supply and charging. Click the check-box beside the power plan option that best matches your current activities. Select "High Performance" if the laptop is connected to an external power supply and the battery is charging. Choose "Balanced" if you don't need to save power and you want Windows 7 to optimize the laptop's power settings. Select "Power Saver" if you need to run the laptop on only battery power for as long as possible. Click anywhere on the desktop screen to exit the battery and power plan options dialog box.

Laptop failure

hi

never leave a system running unattended for long period of time without a battery back up (UPS), as low and high current spikes will cause damage to the circuitry of the computers mainboard.

Have you tried using the AC adapter to power up the computer ? if that works and the battery is dead, simply replace the battery. if the system is not powering up at all, then the issue is bad AC adapter or the mainboard is damaged from overload of current.

Windows XP:

By default, all laptops either go on standby or turn off to save precious battery, but you can override these rules from the Power Options (XP) in your control panel (Start > Control Panel > Performance and Maintenance > Power Options) and click on Advanced Tab and override the settings according to your preference.

I prefer "Do nothing" while closing the lid. Although this is real simple, few of us might not know it. I

Evrytime I unplug the charger on my lenovo S10-2 ,it automatically turns off. a little help please! :((

Sounds to me like you may have a problem with your laptop battery! It may be time for a replacement. You can find some on ebay that work fairly well; I have bought and used several different laptop batteries from ebay with success! Or, you can always purchase from Lenovo themselves.
  1. eBay: Here is a link to batteries that will work with your laptop.
  2. Lenovo: Black battery is here. White battery is here.
A little information before you decide to fork out some money:
  • Keep in mind the color of your laptop; don't buy a white battery if you have a black laptop and vice versa, unless you want that kind of look, of course.
Hope this helps!

I have HP Compaq 6910p and having issue with its battery/changer as laptop screen become bright on battery and uses more battery then normal.

Right click the battery icon next to the clock on your taskbar. Select "Power Options" At the bottom, there is a slider for screen brightness. Slide it left to dim, slide right for brighter.
If you want your laptop to automatically adjust the brightness based on whether it's plugged in or not, click "Change plan settings" next to the currently selected power plan (usually Balanced).
On the new screen, there are 2 sliders. I would recommend setting the Plugged In slider to max and the On Battery slider to about 1/2 to begin with. Then adjust them to personal preference.

Can't charge battery

Remove the battery and try if the PC turn on connecting to direct currrent.
If it turn on (whitout battery), the issue should be a connector problem or a damaged internal recargher.
