SOURCE: Ido not have any problem if I print label using

Do you have Zebra emulation firmware installed? If not, your printer will not understand the command language that you are sending to it. Datamax has its own language and you will need a branch in your code to support that if the printer does not work with ZPL.

After scanning a bar code I need it to enter and go to next row in excel

Hi,

This can be possible, therefore it is not an Excel setting. You would need
to use the software that comes with your bar-code reader to configure this.

Try looking in your bar-code reader documentation for "Append Enter" or
"Append Carriage Return"
tip

How to install a barcode

<p>Bar codes are images that data can be scanned and read by computers and other devices contain. They usually appear on the packaging as black lines that are scanned when you buy the products, but they can come in various shapes and used for many different purposes. Creating a bar code means to make the image bar code using special software, prints it and attaches it to the relevant item. <br /> <p><br /> <p>1. Surfing the Internet for sites that offer free services for creating barcodes (see Resources). <br /> <p><br /> <p>2. I'm using Symbol LS1004 with SirsiDynix Symphony 3.3.1 Workflows. How can I tab over after each scan, without having to hit &lt;Enter&gt;? Thanks, -john

Here is what I did to fix the problem of the bar-code scanner not going to next line after a successful scan. (Symbol ls4000i,This fix should work for other models as well)

1. Get the manual for your scanner or here is a link to the Symbol LS400i
https://docs.symbol.com/manuals/3789802a.pdf
You will want to print off few pages that have the proper bar-codes for programming.

2. I usually start with setting scanner to the Default Parameter, this should be in section 5-7,page 50 of the manual.PRINT IT
Warning! If you set scanner to default, you need to be aware of which bar-code types you use. (We use UPC-A) Also if you have it programed for other things already you may not want to set all settings to default. You can skip to step 4. If you do not wish to reset all values to default.

Now scan the Default bar-code.

3. Now program scanner to Enable your bar-code type. (For us Enable UPC-A bar-code is in section 5-22,page 66. PRINT IT

Now Scan the Enable (your bar-code type UPC-A, UPC-E,etc etc)

4.Next You need to set a Suffix Value. The scan Suffix bar-code is found in section 5-80, page 124. PRINT IT

Now Scan the Scan Suffix bar-code

This prepares the scanner for the code of the whatever Suffix you want to add.

5. The Suffix you want to add to fix this particular problem is ENTER. So that it goes to the next line. There is a prefix/suffix value chart on page 162 table A-4. The code for ENTER Is 7013. In order to enter this code you will need to print off the Numeric Bar Codes found in section 5-109,5-110,pages 153,154. PRINT IT

Now scan in 7013 one number at a time to program ENTER as the suffix.

6.Now you have to program the Scan Data Transmission Format found in section 5-81,5-82, pages 125,126 . PRINT IT
(This lets the scanner know to transmit the Suffix after the data.)

First scan the Scan Options Bar-code.
Second scan the <DATA><SUFFIX> bar-code.

Last scan the ENTER Bar-Code.

YOUR DONE !

Your scanner should be working now. Also look through the manual there are some nice functions that can be turned on and off with a simple bar code scan. Such as volume and tone of beep etc etc.

Hope this helps

I wish to connect a bar code scanner to my Keyboard Display Unit for inputting data when printing labels. Can you provide information relating to pin outs, protocols and how to set this up? Thanks

By Keyboard / Display unit I'm assuming your using a PC, thin client or dumb terminal. If you are using a PC then the easiest way to do this is to get a bar-code scanner with a USB interface, no programming should be required with possibly the exception being of adding a "Enter" (CR LR) after each scan.

If you have a dumb terminal then you may need to look at trying to use an RS232 connection (if one exists) or a keyboard wedge solution where the scanner is plugged into the keyboard port along with the keyboard.

In any event pin outs would vary depending upon the scanner you want to use and the device you are connecting the scanner to.

Hope this helps

S4M Thermal Label Printer: Very thin vertical line in bar code area negating ...

The printhead is starting to go bad. Try cleaning it. If you can't get the line to disappear, you can rearrange the info on your label so that the void does not go across your barcode. Lastly, you can replace the printhead. Hope this helps

The printer will print a bar code but the reader will not read it. the reader reads the bar code from a second printer just fine

Sounds like there are some elements worn off of the printhead causing some of the bars to not be printed. To test, create a label that prints a thick black line or solid black box across the width of the label (assuming a 4" label). Any vertical white lines that show indicate elements that are not functioning.
You could also put one label above the other, lining up the barcodes and you'll probably see bars that are missing from the label that won's scan.
The only ways to correct the problem are to install a new printhead or move the barcode field on the label so that the missing elements fall in the spaces between the bars.

Hope that helps !

Hi, i am trying to configure my barcode scanner LS2208 to put a {TAB} in when scanning

There should have been a sheet or book of bar codes that came with your scanner. These codes will allow you to program your scanner to do most anything, including adding a tab. You simply look at the bar codes and read what they do. you simply scan the one that adds a tab and it will forever add the tab unless you re program it.

If you have lost your book/bar code page, you should be able to go to the manufacturer website and download/print a document with the programmable bar codes.

Hi the print not complet and make black line

Its difficult to see the actual problem, but this looks like a corrupt file. Go firstly to yout driver, right click on it , go to properties and then click on "print a test page" if this prints correctly then its the actual file, try another file/drawing. If this does not print correctly then I would reinstall the driver. If it still does not work then try another PC. I dont personally think you have a plotter problem, its one of the above.

make the pause test (press pause and turn on) press Pause , 5 sec. if print qualiti is ok and you dont see some lines across the print, the problem is not the printer.
if you see some withe lines across the print, you need to replace the print head.

Facing copying problem from scanning section

Although you didn't specify the scanner model, this solution should work.

If the scanner has a top feeder, open it.

You will see a thin strip of glass, either to the left, or right of the large scanner glass.

There is most likely a small spec of ink, white out, etc on it.

Clean the strip glass with rubbing alcohol and the line should go away.
