hi im the one with the graphic card problem .ok the first thing i did was i disabled the card then took it out and then put the other one in and nothing i dont have any settings for it in my bios any ideas???

Disabling the other card is not enough. If you have another card in it you need to remove the other card physically from the computer motherboard. If it is an onboard video card you need to go into the BIOS and disable onboard video.

You MUST disable the onboard video in the BIOS and enable the other Card (AGP or PCIE) as the primary display this is also done in the BIOS

well first if you "disabled" a card that was physically removed from a slot, Windows make be confused seeing as you have not installed any new drivers. Get your "old" display enabled again, shut down the computer, remove old card, install new card, reboot and you should have a basic display until you install the new drivers. Windows will remove the unused drivers from the "old" card for you.

If you are having problems with your video card

the drivers might not be installed correctly you might have to uninstall the graphics card restart your computer then reinstall the graphics card and its drivers

If your computer came with a motherboard disc the drivers could be on it

Click start control panel administrive tools computer management device manager scroll to display adapters + to expand you might see a yellow question mark ? or exclamation mark ! or a red x right click select reinstall drivers or

you might need to download one

Have a Dell 531 Inspiron 4400+ Desktop with a Nvidia GEForce 6150SE. Would like to upgrade graphics card???

hello, according to wiki your Dell 531 is same as 530 except for the nvidia chipset.
ATI Radeon HD 4670 is recommended for this system without adding too much of extra burdun on the power supply.
rest also depends on how much are you looking to invest in a graphic card. below is link for newegg's graphic section:
http://www.newegg.com/Product/ProductList.aspx?Submit=ENE&N=40000048&Description=pci%20express%20video%20card&name=Desktop%20Graphics%20%2f%20Video%20Cards

after you have the card follow this sequence(unless ofcourse you know excatly what to do)
1 go in BIOS and change graphic card priority from onboard first to PCI express.
2. turn off system install the new card, switch the vga/dvi cable to the new card and startup the system.
3. upgrade drivers with provided cd.

let me know if you have any questions.
good luck

Im running an ATI Radeon x1300/1550 pro graphics card(256m) .. on OS win XP (sp2) all up to date drivers and DirectX9 but wen i try to play any on line game i just get a white screen i get sound but no...

- does it work properly when u disable the online game feature (play the same game without just on your PC or in LAN-session)
-goto network connections and disable every connection available besides the one u use for internet access
(as u can wire up video cameras
to the card via the 1394/port, this port may have been recognized as network adaptor in windows, this might cause IRQ problems and as u do not use it, it is wise to disable it)

retry now the online game / if stil the prob, came back to fixya!

good luck

You have every right to return that item at bestbuy.  Unless you have damaged it or too much time has passed since you purchased it.  Demand to see a manager. Don't leave until they sort it out.

Need to connect 2 displays to Vision Tek RADEON X1300256 card

You probably should have gotten a card that had Dual DVI because it will be two separate outputs instead of one... I would take it back and get the correct Graphics Card.

ATI Radeon X1300 wont work with my Vista 32 bit

Try this.

Download the unified Radeon drivers from ATI's website... do not use Windows update. Get the Drivers Only package. for Vista 32-bit

If you can get to the desktop:
Uninstall the existing display drivers by using the remove hardware utility. Whatever they are... remove them. Reboot. Windows will try to reinstall the drivers on the next boot. If it allows you cancel the installation at any time during install do it. Run the downloaded package from ATI. Reboot.

If you can't get to the desktop:
Press F8 when booting and enter safe mode with networking. Download the ATI drivers from ati.com for Vista 32-bit.
Uninstall the display drivers. Reboot. Should take you to the desktop on the next boot so you can run the install program.
