Sandisk sansa view not working any more

My sansa view was working out great for me. I've had it since christmas and then one day i put it on my friend's guitar amp while he was playing, and it vibrated to the point where it knocked the sansa view onto my basement's cement floor. It was fine accept it wasn't grabbing the headphones all the way, and the sound was having some problems coming through, being distorted every now and then because it wasnt grabbing the headphones all the way like it had been. So one day recently i stupidly figured i could try to fix it mysdef, so I took the thing apart, and some tan strip inside of it had come unattached, and now its not working at all. I don't know what to do, and i don't know how or where i can get it fixed. What happened, and what should I do to get it working again, and then have the headphones working again?

No you didn't damage the strip at all, it can easily seperate from the place it attaches to the PCB. Feed the end of the ribbon into the slot on the main board , if you look closely you will see a black piece that flips up. slide the ribbon end into the slot and then carefully press that black piece snaping the ribbon into place.

What happened was it probally damaged the tan stripp (which is probally the reason it was unattached) then when you took it apart you may have damaged the battery ( those batteries are very easy to damage) good luck with your m.p.3.

Your 4GB card is actually a microSDHC card. The e250 works with microSD cards, 2GB and smaller.

I have a 8gb sansa view and up until 2 days ago it would come on

Recovery for the Sansa View is described on the Sandisk site in 3 steps:

1. Reset the device:
http://kb.sandisk.com/app/answers/detail/a_id/188
The reset is meant for switching the player off completely, before going to the recovery mode.
2. Force recovery mode:
http://kb.sandisk.com/app/answers/detail/a_id/197
Recovery mode is meant for recognizing the player on the computer and making backups of files from player to the computer, before clearing the device while updating it to the latest firmware.
3. Update to the latest firmware:
http://kb.sandisk.com/app/answers/detail/a_id/304
Updating the firmware is meant for completely erasing the players' drive and putting new software on it back again.

As you follow the instructions of the last step you'll require the "Sansa Firmware Updater".
It can be downloaded with the next link:
