try removing the battery and leave out for a few minutes to erase the camera memory so to speak, then replace battery and see how you go, good luck

Hmm, looks like the zoom rocker switch might be stuck. To get to the switch you'll need to partially strip the camera. This is a bit fiddly, but should be ok if you are comfortable with taking things apart. I repair cameras as a hobby and in my opinion lumix-es are by far the easiest to take apart and put together.
Remove the battery, unscrew all the screw holding the case making notes which screw goes where (they are not the same). Very carefully lift the back of the case to see two white ribbon cables going to LCD screen. Disconnect them. Once done, remove the front of the case. With both case panels removed pull off the top section (where the power, shutter/zoom buttons sit). This will require a bit of force. Once done, you'll need to undo the plastic cover, there should be a screw or plastic catches holding it onto the small logic board. A word of warning, there is a flash capacitor attached to the board (looks like an AAA battery). This can potentially electrocute you (won't kill you but is not very pleasant) , so try not to touch the tracks/connections on the board. Once you expose the top of the board you'll be able to see the zoom rocker switch (a little silver square thingy with a black bit sticking out). The black bit is the bit which is stuck. Try to move it (gently). It should stay in centre position. Well, that's it. Put the camera together and hopefully it's back to normal.
